What a way to boost an already LOW moral. By calling it a "disciplinary program". What idiot came up with this plan?

I remember oh not so long ago (prior to 08/2005) when the mechanics, f/a's, ground workers, CSR's, reservationist etc...all ran a pretty tight ship at my station. LMAO now!

Idiots...Total idiots!

From the newscaster:

"It's a disciplinary program...."

If that doesn't sum up NWA in a nutshell, I don't know what does.

Before getting knots in your knickers about this, please remember it was a newscaster who used the word "discilinary"
Also, have any of you bothered to look up the definition of the word disciline? ie:" Training intended to produce a a specified character or pattern of behavior".

I too would get upset about the training on my own time, but you are showing your lack of vocabulary by being upset at the word discipline or discipinary..

Thanks for the grammar and vocabulary lesson Professor. You may want to use spell check before your next lesson.:stupid:

Get tired of wowing the pre-teens on A-net again, did we?

Normally I think spelling flames are weak, but you certainly deserve one for botching the word discipline (two different ways, no less) while trying to give us a semantics/vocabulary lesson.

You are right, I should have used spell check, my bad. Even though I did botch the word discipline twice, do you agree my definition is correct, and the furor about disciplinary training is much to do about nothing. I do agree with the fact that the training should not be on your own time.

Also, is your friend Jenny back at NWA after she and several senior pilots quit together a few months back?

discipline:
to punish or penalize in order to train and control; correct; chastise.

IMO, NWA needs to pick their words more carefully especially since labor relations are already strained.

I agree that the term "discipline" could have been the newscaster's term, and not the company's....

However, the fact that it's mandatory and will force people to travel to MSP makes this initiative D.O.A. How effective can a class be if most folks don't want to be there in the first place?

If you work at NWA, do you remember "Catch the Fish?" Same story. Lots of people dragged against their will to MSP (and other cities) for a feel good class that had zero lasting effect. It should also be noted that NWA policy always finds a way to contadict the tenets of these classes.

Add to that Inflight not being paid for this, and you have a recipe for disaster.

No debate here. For the record, Ground Ops employees do get paid for their time, but again, will have to leave their cities to do so, most likely on their days off.

What does that have to do with this thread?
