Can anyone confirm or deny that the pilots through ALPA will be recieving their 777 Arbitration award payouts within the next month? Inquiring minds need to know.

Thank You,

Flyboy4u -

It appears to me that you need to slow down and sort through the facts a little more carefully.

1. AA pilots are APA, not ALPA as you suggest.
2. 777 arbitration award pertains to a grievance filed on behalf of F/A's by APFA.
3. According to the award, payment is scheduled for October/November 2004.

I will often times agree with your position on a given issue, but when you rush to post, without gathering the necessary facts, you loose credibility.

I echo the sentiments of those posters who wish you a speedy return to the line. Flying obviously was a big part of your identity. If it is of any consolation, imagine what the former TWA F/A’s with 10, 20, 30, even 40 years a flying are experiencing.

Excuse me for Asking Hunter, but maybe that's why I was posting the question so I can get the facts straight. Thank you for your kind words. The information I had recieved was that the pilots also were being granted some sort of 777 arbitration award. Are you, yourself, a pilot? If so, then thank you for clearing up this rumor. If you are not a pilot, then I hope the information you are giving is correct.

I am well aware of the APFA filed grievence concerning the 777 award scheduled for payout Oct./Nov. In fact, some fellow coleagues of mine, who are currently furloughed, have filed a lawsuit. They should be part of the payout, but since they are furloughed they will not be recieving any of these funds.

Ed,

The pilots' arbitration award has nothing to do with the 777. They won a dispute over "reverse" code sharing with AX in STL.

Here is a copy of their hotline message:

This is Gregg Overman, APA Communications Director, with the APA
Information Hotline for Tuesday, May 25.

AX ARBITRATION AWARD: As announced last Friday, the APA Board of Directors approved a motion during its Special Meeting seeking payment of the AX arbitration award. President Darrah subsequently requested payment of the award from management, and today AMR wired APA $23,248,364, which constitutes the full amount of the award.

APA will hold these funds while the Board continues to deliberate their final disposition. As we have previously noted, the Board has considered a range of options with regard to the award amount, including various contractual enhancements.

That's it for today. Thank you for calling.
