Now, the airline's pilots want to share in its success. The 2,700 pilots from the old US Airways gave up $2 billion in salary and pension contributions and "want a bite of the apple," says Jack Stephan, chairman of the US Airways chapter of the Air Line Pilots Association.

J.R. Baker, chairman of the 1,900-member America West branch of ALPA, says his colleagues want to be acknowledged, as well. "The America West pilots have made our share of sacrifices too, but our pilots never had an apple to bite," he says. "For a long time, the last 20 years, we've been at the bottom of the industry."

Spread the wealth around is what I say.

Doug must be puckering today.

This new airline has yet to make a penny in profit, yet the pigs are lining up at the trough. You have to question someones mental aptitude that wants to be compensated with airline stock lol.

The Pigs already emptied the trough! Its the runts that might want some of the leftovers instead of being sent to slaughter!

Until the company is able to hire pilots off the street, salaries can not be increased - if USAirways is to be competative.

Why not? The execs have lined their pockets with bonus and stock and NO profit yet!

Obviously, U has money to burn, so pass the tray.

There are many exec type management out there willing to work for a lot less than our current senior managment receives too! Much less.

Even Bruce Lakefield worked for $75,000 less than Dougie running the entire operation while in BK. And Lakefield was a "seasoned" 30-year exec from Lehman Broths.

Love to see a good bich slap every now and again

Great here we go again greed from the pilot group.
Based on percentage as a fleet woker Ive taken a much larger hit than they have. I think we need to address our pay first.
Its time you pilots stand in line this time.

Yeah, we saved the company and you want us to stand in line. Without our pension going you'd be working at McDonalds.
