What’s going to work for me is suppressing USAPA and keeping them quite .. that should nicely round up my day … in fact that’s what’s best for ME ….

Under no circumstance should USAPA have taken this public ….

All they’ve done is shaken the public’s trust in our airline , hurting our bottom line ….


The ONLY thing that matters in july 2008 IS the bottom line!!! That’s IT !!!!


USAPA is endangering our own jobs with their irresponsibility … just because the company didn’t do as USAPA wanted in no way , shape or form gave them a WAIVER from sanity to do what they did ….


USAPA is an enemy of every us airways employee .

Do you have any facts to back up that opinion? Where do you see any evidence that in less than 36 hours any damage has been done to the bottom line that is attributable to the USAPA ad? What damage to the bottom line has come from the IFE issue, the coach beverage issue and/or the bag check issue? What damage to the bottom line has occurred due to the FF'ers being quite upset and booking away from the airline, reportedly in droves?

Have you considered whether or not the company PR department might feel about having such a vocal supporter as yourself seem to be unstable and a self-admitted me first "hypocrite"? Or have you considered how many potential passengers may be booking away from the airline because they don't want to take a chance that you might somehow be handling their checked luggage?
 
How do you know that it's "always the same 8 pilots"? Oh - that's right - because the company says so and that's all you need to know.



Again, how do you know that none of the "1000's of other pilots" don't seem to have a problem. Even the company hasn't gone so far as to say that, but anything to support the company line - even if you have to make it up.



Again, what's the basis for your saying that these Capt's "can't plan fuel for complicated overseas flights". The company again? Did you ever think that these Capt's were doing exactly that - planning fuel for complicated overseas flights. With your vast experience with complicated overseas flights, perhaps you'd care to explain how that process works. Or is merely a matter of swallowing whatever the company feeds you....

PMFJI I was made aware of a few facts this afternoon:

There are 58 A-330 Captains in PHL. 7 were called in. What's the old saying..."Shoot 1 and 1,000 fall in line?"
One of them is a Line Route Instuctor....
There was no syllabus given and the "demonstration" became something totally different than what was advertised. The union reps were tossed. The training committee was also tossed.
The beat goes on..................
 
:shock: You couldn't pay me to fly an aircraft that isn't fueled enough! Landing on fumes is not my idea of a vacation with the family.

Then again, they only erect stop signs and traffic lights after an accident occurs. Wake up Tempe! Shame on the company for going after pilots that have the knowledge and the conscious not to fly under these conditions.

We all hate filling the tank....we hate running out of gas also but when you run out on land it is much different than running out in mid-air.

NOBODY would run an airplane out of fuel. What not having enough really means is that you may have to land somewhere to get fuel. That's all. Now, what it really effects is any sort of connections for the airplane and passengers, since you can pretty much add 2 or 3 hours to the arrival time at the final destination.

Airplanes sometimes divert for any number of reasons, medical, maintenance, etc., but every time it happens it costs the company $$$$. Flying from the EU to the US is a 7 to 9 hour proposition, so forecasting things like weather and winds can be tricky, at best. Pilots, using their experience and knowledge, sometimes elect to "adjust" the amount of fuel, "just in case". That's what this whole argument is about.

Yep, keep it a secret like all the other dirty laundry that is until something happens and the finger pointing begins!!

Cannot speak for anyone else, but I kind of respect the new USAPA!! Being on the maintenance side, all have had their diffferences over the years, but they are taking a stand on something they believe in!! Company is not used to a group that refuses to bend over and spead when they speak!!
