The Pilot Bid for Nov-Dec is out and I haven't had a chance to view it in its entirety just my position but I understand there is going to be a massive amount of training. People are probably jockeying for position now.

Any comments.

Talked to an asst. chief in PHL about the bid. He said and I quote "We don't expect much training and the pilots will follow the flying". Typical of a dysfunctional management. It seems history does repeat itself, over and over and over just like the PSA pilots with the MD80's.

All I did was switch bases.

Tried to get into the members only part of ALPA website. Keep getting an error message to the area. Wonder if I've been dropped already?

I was able to get on the ALPA site today and I have not paid dues in over 2 months (and I will not ever pay them to ALPA again). The bid was not available to view, yet.

I also moved up 30% in base, according to the phone results.

Ditto

According to the US Airways ALPA MEC Permanent Bid Committee, "Permanent Bid results for November and December are available on VRS ONLY. We do not have possession of the files at this time and do not anticipate getting them until tomorrow."

In addition, I understand the Permanent Bid alignment status information for November/December is now available on Option 26 in CATCREW. The bid has significant positive movement due to the East's attrition-based career expectation and many, many pilots will receive meaningful pay raises as First Officers upgrade to Captain, Reserves become Lineholders, and Narrowbody pilots become Widebody pilots.

Also noteworthy, FCTI's are now preparing an East Indoc Class curriculum because East new hire pilots are expected to arrive later this year.

You have to pay dues as a condition of employment, they can fire you.

Don't believe any pilot ever has been. ALPA must petition the company to do such..blah blah blah...never happened.

Besides you can opt out of ALPA and just pay the service charge.....
