Well I'd sure like to see if there is a real safety issue here or not. We know that the odors are present as it is well documented as are the incidents regarding smoke.
We also know that these issues are not unique to US Airways as nearly every airline has them.
The entire industry needs to address the issue and if Boeing and Airbus have to create retrofits to solve the problem then that needs to happen as well. An aircraft is the last place to cut corners to save a buck. With US, a great many believe that Management would risk lives to save a buck. I'm not among those people. However I can see how they would arrive at that conclusion.
