FRA Flight Diverted

908 Killed a HP ramper and a Contract MX worker in separate accidents and has had lots of other bizarre injuries & incidences.

And Tempe killed customer service and what was left of employee morale. I guess Tempe is the Christine of the airline industry.

  Hey, maybe "Christine" should be the new call sign.

Back on topic, A cracked windshield is rather serious. A few years ago Air France diverted a 777 to Churchill, MB after a windshield cracked. (True, that problem resulted from an electrical fire in the windshild anti-ice system...possibly a more serious event than the US A330) After seeing the map on flightaware, I'm wonder why they didn't opt for Gander or St John's....both closer than Halifax.

So, I was out at a bar and someone mentioned I worked for USAirways and here is the story I was told.

This guy was on the Frankfurt flight and told me how the windshield was cracked and they had to turn around and land in Halifax. Anyway, he said that the crew that flew up to Halifax with the new plane was excellent. He could not stop talking about how they made a negative situation very positive. If I had access to catcrew, I would have looked them up and and sent them all a note about how this guy thought they were wonderful. So, whoever was working that flight, this man says to says to you "thank you for being the best crew I have ever had flying overseas. Even though there was no food, you made up for that."

He also said the original crew was great as to keeping them informed and could tell they must have been exhausted by the time they arrived in Halifax. He hopes you made it home without too many more delays. He also said thank you for turning a bad situation into a safe trip in the end. This situation showed off the professionalism of our flight attendants to him.

Wait until some one shows up for the Beijing flight.

Sorry your flight to Beijing has been delayed until we get a plane that flies that far.

You can rebook for a nominal $150 change fee.
Beijing will NEVER happen. US will be out of business by then. The end is VERY near ! So very sad

blah blah blah yada yada yada and you know this how genius ?
The US business model or is it more appropriate to say US' Ma & Pa Kettle Model explains it all. There are too many Other Carriers flying to China/ Japan that offer a Superior Product US can only dream of. Sure US offers Point A to B, but for the same price Other Airlines offer much more comfort and better product. The only way US can compete in the Asian Market is that Oil is $25 a Barrel and there is a flood of passengers that need to get there. Not gonna happen. Reality sucks!
