Painting of the Fleet

They (the company) painted the west fleet first. To remove the America West livery. Done...as far as I know. I still see the west livery in the interiors on some. Oh well.

And as far as I know....they are just piece mealing the East fleet.

Be that as it may.....I want to know if they have put passenger life vests on the West Fleet????
All of the America West planes have been painted. You will however see 2 AWA heritage A319's. They have begun further interior mods to change out the old bulkheads on the Airbus a/c. West 757's have received full interior mods and you should not see the old carpet on the walls any longer. Lifevests are only on west 757 fleet and west 321's.

It's really more for marketing and branding, which should be very important.

Also, lots of folks like the heritage liveries. I think they are a nice touch, and I agree there should be one for the other brands that got absorbed into US Airways over the years.

Too bad they got the Piedmont blue wrong. The real Piedmont blue was a noticeably darker shade.

The Allegheny plane is wrong as well. They fixed it once yet still left the titles black. I would like to see more heritage aircraft flying around but to my understanding the company has no intentions of doing so. I'd love to see a mohawk color scheme along with Empire. Hell we could have half the fleet in retro schemes considering the melting pot we have here. Spirit had their old colors on the airbus in a shimmery silver so how about a USAir color? I sure would like them to leave one aircraft in the dark blue since it WAS the colors at time of merger.

So besides the 3 on the East side there really should be 6 more: Mohawk, Empire, Pre-merger US Airways blue, Post tri-merger Silver US Air, 3 shades rust USAir with polished silver, 3 shades rust Allegheny with white base.

Can you imagine if Delta ever did heritage: DL, WA, NW, RC, Southern, NE, Bonanza, Hughes Air West, etc.. Almost half their fleet would be in heritage schemes!

We should put some of our f/a's on the side of the plane like Virgin. Go ahead.........It's wide open from here.

And, technically, Trump Shuttle.

Personally, I think the last livery for each airline and/or name change would be sufficient.

US didnt not own the Trump Shuttle, they managed it for Citibank, as they owned it when Trump filed bankruptcy the first time and had the first right of purchase when he wanted to sell it.

So if you want to be technical you would have it was Eastern also, it was their shuttle first.

US managed the Shuttle for a number of years with right of first refusal if it were sold. I believe it was AA that expressed an interest so US bought it in the late 90's. That's why the pilots were integrated into the US seniority list.

I tend to agree. Otherwise, where do you stop? There'd have to be an All-American Airlines livery to go back through all the US liveries, the Mohawk liveries (at least 2), Lake Central, and Empire.

Hate the entire concept of "heritage". The biggest mistake of the merger! No, we are all one from this day fwd period. That circle of "death" should be retried. Are we done with the bi-polar airways crisis yet? So many days so little personalities.

So, then. If US Airways didn't ever own the Trump Shuttle, how was it acquired? By magic? UCT?

True, US Airways did manage the Trump Shuttle for Citibank for a period of time, then US BOUGHT IT! I fail to see the difference here between US buying Piedmont or PSA. Neither of those instantly lost their identity by magic the very day the purchase was closed. Why is the Trump Shuttle any different?

By the time all of this happened, the Eastern Shuttle was merely a distant memory, and US never operated nor owned the "Eastern Shuttle."
