Dear Fellow US customers and employees,

I am off to Tempe, where I will be meeting with US management on Tuesday morning. I will be making one final attempt for our voice to be heard, and to let them know that the status quo is completely unacceptable. Enough is enough.

Based on the responses to the surveys both here and on other boards, we estimate that somewhere between $3M and $10M in annual revenue is poised to walk out the door to other airlines--and that figure only represents members we've heard from!! If you extrapolate this result, the possible revenue loss from FF's going elsewhere is substantial to say the least.

The outcome of the meeting will determine where we go from here--both literally and figuratively. I will be in touch with FFOCUS board members who will try to get the results out to you as soon as possible late on Tuesday, and I will make a formal report to FFOCUS members when I have a chance Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning. I am sure we will post information here as well.

I go on behalf of our members--frequent fliers and employees of US Airways, who want a secure, successful and profitable airline with happy employees and happy customers...

Wish me luck...I'm gonna need it.!!

I hope you are able to make some inroads with the folks in Tempe. It's clear they don't have a grasp on the pulse of the East Coast road warrior, and maybe you can enlighten them somewhat. It's difficult to tell if they will fully comprehend the potential revenue loss that you are warning them about because I think they honestly believe that Ma and Pa Kettle will keep buying tickets twice per year to keep the airline afloat. Anyway, good luck to you. The future of a once great airline is up for grabs.

Uh....USAir/USAirways was never a great airline. Mediocre maybe, but never great.

what i would like to see accomplished is that the company wake up and make the employees happy. If the employees are not happy than the customers will not be happy. Every time they piss the employee off the employee has no alternative but to make the cutomer unhappy. PLZ get through to them and make them realize happy employees make happy customers.

The east agents have been wearing two faces for way to long. It is very hard and some times transparent

Good luck, Art.

Personally I think you are wasting your time, but that's your business. The powers in Tempe are so arrogant and clueless. I recently read a text written by Bishop John Shelby Spong who, while speaking of someone else, clearly identifies the mindset of Tempe:

"There are two kinds of ignorance in this world. One is the ignorance of not knowing. That kind of ignorance can always be remedied by simply getting the facts. The other kind of ignorance, however, is the ignorance of not knowing that you do not know."

Doogie and his cronies are sure they have all the answers and glibly recite them to anyone who will stand for it. Doogie has received much adulation as the "wunderkind" of the airline industry. And, sadly, he believed he deserved it and that it was true. Even though he is obviously in way over his head (shades of Seth Schofield,) he continues to think that all is well and under control (shades of Dave Siegel.) He will get a real education very soon at the hands of his totally disgruntled and livid employees, as well as those who, like you Art, will likely move on to air carriers that can actually get the job done with the help of competent management.

We appreciate your efforts Art. We will be forever grateful if you can get through to the right people. A well spoken customer is the only way these issues can be articulated.

Thanks.

Best of luck! Although I have been a somewhat outspoken "Westie" here, I really want this crap to be overwith so we can get on with our lives.

AWA-UAir was only the first half. The DAL debacle was the half-time show. Right after we get a lot of stuff ironed out with this merger, we'll get to do it all again with either NWA or United.
