Obama Brainwashing American Youth !

Here's a unique idea: why don't these parents get over themselves, allow their brats to listen to someone who might have an opposing viewpoint, talk about it afterwards, and then <gasp> let the kids make up their own minds!

You must be talking about the kids who's parents think Nobama is the second coming ................right ?

What people need to understand is that originally there were lesson plans, available online, that recommended having students "write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president."

The White House revised the plans Wednesday to say students could "write letters to themselves about how they can achieve their short-term and long-term education goals."

This wasn't about education, staying in school etc., it was an obvious end around to promote his cult of personality as well as his Obamacare agenda.

This whole thing is absolutely hysterical. Not a single one of you cared for one minute when it was Reagan or Bush doing this...but now that it's Obama, its "indoctrination!!!" Grow a pair and stop being so scared to listen to anyone who you disagree with. Little Justin and Little Ashley will be just fine. After all, you probably subject them to wingnut indoctrination on a daily basis. Give me a break!

Unlike Obama, these two Presidents didn’t instruct students to read their books or make posters with quotes from their speeches!

Plus: Left Wing political indoctrination is pervasive in the public schools as it is via the teachers union massive influence.

It’s true that both President’s Reagan and the first President Bush gave speeches to the nation’s schoolchildren. But there is no evidence to suggest that either man used the Dept. of Education to issue guidelines for teaching plans to accompany the speech in the way Obama has:

PreK-6 Menu of Classroom Activities:
President Obama’s Address to Students
Across America
Produced by Teaching Ambassador Fellows, U.S. Department of Education

Before the Speech:
Teachers can build background knowledge about the President of the United States and his speech by reading books about presidents and Barack Obama and motivate students by asking the following questions.
…
Why is it important that we listen to the President and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of congress, or the governor? Why is what they say important?

During the Speech:

As the President speaks, teachers can ask students to write down key ideas or phrases that are important or personally meaningful. Students could use a note-taking graphic organizer such as a Cluster Web, or students could record their thoughts on sticky notes. Younger children can draw pictures and write as appropriate. As students listen to the speech, they could think about the following: What is the President trying to tell me? What is the President asking me to do? What new ideas and actions is the President challenging me to think about?
…
Extension of the Speech: Teachers can extend learning by having students:

Write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president. These would be collected and redistributed at an appropriate later date by the teacher to make students accountable to their goals.

And for the record Dems have snorted about Repubs talking to school children...

Funding of Bush Speech Draws Fire; Democrat Calls Education Broadcast Paid Political Advertising'

In fact, the House Majority leader at the time, Dick Gephardt (D-Mo.), said "The Department of Education should not be producing paid political advertising for the president, it should be helping us to produce smarter students."

How about this for a lesson plan...

I don't need to grow a pair. I'm not scared to listen to an opposing viewpoint. But I do and will work to prevent any agenda that opposing view point has from taking root.

But we aren't talking about me, an adult with years of experience in navigating political b.s. We're talking about children who are told to listen to their teachers and people in authority. They do not have any political experience nor an understanding of it. That's why the liberals have attacked our school system and taken it over...to indoctrinate, as Rush calls them, young skulls full of mush.

When kids are bombarded by constant liberal agendized instruction from pre-K though the degree programs of college...that's quite a formittable brainwashing system.

So I say, let kids be kids. Leave politics to the adults and leave these kids alone.

There again is living proof of what I have said all long.

Liberals always do what they complain about conservatives doing. When they are in power, its ok to do these things because its a liberal agenda maker, but conservatives are always told to shut up by them.

Look at today, during the 8 years of Bush43, it was attack every single nominee he places for the Supereme Court. But once the big O got instilled a dictator, the right is told to shut up and don't obstruct any of their nominees.

I love having libs shoot their mouths off...it makes our job of debunking them and show them for exactly what they are so much easier. :)

OH yes, it would be just AWFUL if kids were to read books about Obama and the other Presidents. It's just awful if they were to actually learn something about our country. Listening to what the president, and other elected officals has to say, is the worst possible thing our kids could do.

In case you didn't know: "listen" doesn't necessarily mean "agree".

At least nobody's saying you're a traitor if you dont' agree with our current president. That wasn't the case 8 years ago.

Is it hypocritical for the democrats to have complained about Reagan's and Bush's speeches, but not Obama's? Of course it is.

But I notice you aren't calling the republicans hypocrites for complaining about Obama's speech, but not Reagan's and Bush's.

And if you think Obama's speech is a waste, I hope you thought the same about the Reagan and Bush speeches . .otherwise you, too, are a hypcorite.

You and I both know this goes far beyond "listening." I forget who said it, but I remember hearing a quote. "Give me a generation and I will change the world." And the liberals have had a full generation of indoctrination through their takeover of the indoctrination camps that used to be called public schools....places where reading, writing and math were taught. Now our public schools are social engineering camps where only the liberal agenda is permitted and any other view is shouted down, attacked and removed from the students sight, textbooks and learning.

Why is it that when I was school, we called that break between the third week of December and the first week of January Christmas break? Now its "mid-winter break." Why is it that when I was in school, we had school prayer and said the Pledge of Allegience every morning...in public schools? Try that nowadays. Why is it that a kid praying over their meal in the cafeteria is prohibited yet our children are being made to take Muslim names, read the Koran and have mock Jehiads? But don't you dare say the name of Chirst in a postive way. Why is it that the Theory of Evolution and the Big Bang is taught as absolute fact yet the competing view of Creationism is prohibited from being offered to allow these kids "to make an educated decision on their own?" Its only a one sided world in the educational system...no competing views allowed. Thus my terms indoctrination camps and social engineering camps.

Sorry...this goes well beyond simply listening. My niece has not hugged her father since she was 5 because some liberal teacher she had told her that was not approapriate along with several other things that she believes to this day about our world. Because she was told this garbage from her earliest days in school all the way through to her graduation. Yeah...its just harmless information where kids are free to make up their own minds when they have only been allowed one point of view to be given to them for 180+ days every year and by dozens of teachers and "educational and resource" manuals and textbooks.

Another brother of mine had his daughter do all her research work via both a modern day set of encyclopedias and then cross checked them with a set from our childhood. Guess what she discovered...modern history books are quite different from the facts we were taught about things like the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, etc. And when she pointed these things out to her teachers in her papers, she was graded lower because they didn't like that she had access to other resources that weren't on their "approved" list and didn't agree with their agenda.
