Not Getting the 4% Right Away is Actually an Advantage for MX

About the System and Station protection, great. Fantastic that they still have it. Since we only just lost it in Bankruptcy (Remember that gun to the head) maybe we can negotiate it back in?

I know that you guys have to keep up the pressure for AMFA now more than ever. This could be the last hurrah? Once we get a JCBA if it's from the association or whoever and if it's "decent" and ratified I have to guess that the AMFA initiative would probably come to an end?

Not knocking you, that's just my thought.

You do realize and there was a raid and a vote last summer and the IBT lost to quite substantially to IAM?

So much for that argument.

Was that after the BS they tried to pull at AA??

Neither do I except Nyer and WeAAsles and couple of others ON THIS forum.....But then again they are in a different work group which has done quite well by the TWU considering they are  near the top of industry.
Nobody I know personally in m&e wants it. I know of no facilities, automotive and YES fleet service person who wants it.
But according to NYer the majority wants it because there has been no "reaction" to it. The vote will be the reaction.
But let us be clear, if the ballot choice is between the ALLIANCE and NO UNION.....Obviously the alliance will be certified. But if the choice is ALLIANCE, NO UNION , and OTHER..well, that changes the game substantially and that's what makes the pro alliance types nervous.
So you hold the outcome in your hands. If everyone is against this the. It would be very easy to get enough cards to get whomever you want on the ballot. There isn't a second to waste....get those cards signed and get your preference on that ballot.

The same time.

Same time?  Thats not how I remember it.  The facts about the IBTs phoney card drive, and tactical NMB submittal at AA didn't come out until much later.  Yeah, I guess there was no concern at all over the threat AMFA poses.  Why would AA react so fast in providing the eligibility list with signatures on it to the NMB?  The company doesn't do things that fast normally, I mean we are talking mere hours after the IBTs phoney filing at the NMB - somehow AA shows up before days end.  Happens all the time...not.

It came out towards the end of the voting period at US, I was there.

Your correct.  I think this will be the last time.  AMFA organizers (as they already know) also need to keep up with the resigns after the new year starts as well as the flood of cards that will more than likely pick up once the membership gets the announcement from the NMB AND, let's all hope there really is a vote for this and not just a blessing from the NMB as the TWU and the IAM is fighting for...

It was closer to the end as you state.  However, people were trying to spread the word over to the US guys as quickly as possible, which was happening during the voting.  I do believe the extra effort with internet media and forums helped the US air guys make the correct decision between the teamsters and the IAM.  The teamsters are always the demeanor of their own demise, just as they proven so when they were fired by SWA mechanics and they tried 3 more times to get right back in...

You guys don't want the Teamsters? They should be well coveted, shouldn't they?

Yes, I know a rough estimate of how many cards they have.......less than 50%.

Wow, one guru says less than 7000, and you claim less than 50%. Interesting because I am quite close to one of the AMFA organizers who won't even tell me how many cards. But yet a fleet service clerk who just happens to be anti AMFA, pro TWU and Pro Alliance has the inside scoop...
