It's actually really easy to tell where you stand on the list. After you checkin on the web, you are told how many in each priority is checked in. So, if a total of 4 SA2P's are checked in, you are likely # 4 (maybe higher if someone else checked in within a few seconds).ChrisUS said:So it would behoove you to get on the list for both flights in advance just in case. So much for the arguement that someone said you KNOW IN ADVANCE where you stand on the list.

If you check in at the airport--or if you are rolled over after being bumped, you simply ask the gate agent.
The only "trick" is if you checkin for a flight that looks good, but people from the flight before you are rolled over. Of course you can't tell if anyone will get rolled over or not. But, you can make a best guess.
That brings up a question about using seniority. Let's say I check in for a PHX-PHL flight (#1) 4 hours ahead of time. I am at the top of the list, but it goes out full so I get rolled over to the next flight (#2) that leaves, say, 2 hours later. If a more senior person who ONLY listed for flight #2 checked in 1 hour before that flight--would they STILL get priority over me??
