LAX and SFO. Why not more routes?

Lax - Mco - Sfo
Lax - Tpa - Sfo
Lax - Lga - Sfo
Lax - Bos - Sfo
Lax - Msy - Sfo
Lax - Tul - Sfo
Lax - Mci - Sfo

. If they grabbed it, they'd have the entire rotunda to themselves. Either that, or it would be a nice spot for a US Airways Club HINT HINT.

The space that used to house the TWA Ambassdor Club should be available.

(I recently was in that concourse for the first time since TWA vAAnished; it seemed very strange, almost spooky. Sorta like T3 at LAX.)

Why would US want to compete on codeshare routes?

Won't that be like shooting themselves in the feet if they can't get a decent market share?

I just pulled up a Wayback Machine version of TWA.com and found out where the old SFO Ambassador's Club was. Unfortunately, Alaska Airlines grabbed that space and it's now one of their Board Room clubs. :(

USAir doesn't have a strong presence in SFO/LAX and it really would not make economic sense to add routes to non hub cities from the westcoast. The only route that could possibly be feasible for US would be SFO/LAX-DCA which they applied for and lost to AS (LAX/SEA). All other routes are well served via the Star Alliance. I believe Delta/Song now operates SFO-BOS, bringing to 3, the number of carriers in the LAX/SFO-Boston market. Delta recently added SFO-MCO (Song) service as well. The trend for the legacy carriers will continue to be deploying assets in markets that strengthen existing hubs.

Delta/Song did at one time fly SFO-BOS, but the route was dropped. I also can't find SFO-MCO in the schedules beyond the end of Song, which leads me to believe it's a goner.
