Guess what?? I went to visit a friend in a reputable hospital in Boston this evening and discovered that if you wanted to watch the t.v, you had to pay a fee!!  Where's the outrage and headline stories on CNN? Now I'm more convinced than ever that a la carte is here to stay. Have a great flight!

Guess what?? Medicare isn't paying for my airline ticket, are they.

Unbundling is great. I don't like to pay a higher fare because people check tons of bags. BUT, don't unbundle and then keep charging fares that gouge the business travelers who pay your salary! Charge the same fares to all.

Yes we are out there who are forced to pay high fares. Either give us a little tiny perk--as someone suggested--a free drink coupon with the issuance of the boarding pass, OR cut the fares as those that unbundle as LCC's do! Don't gouge us! It's so cheap, it's stupid.

The hospital charges for the TV. But it doesn't charge higher rates to those who need emergency care and have to be admitted at the last minute as opposed to those who planned their procedure six months in advance. The comparison is not valid!

I've been around long enough to recognize some business people by how they dress and where they are seated.

No problems.

Have tried to give free beverages to some and they hunted me down and paid the $2-unbelievable.

Guy who was coming back from Australia- no problem-and I image his ticket wasn't cheap.

Agreed...the unbundling is really no big deal--it is their execution and their treatment of premium customers. That's why I am taking my very very first WN flight next week. They are about 1/2 the price of the competition (city to city) and I get a free drink, I get to board first, and I get a free snack. The excitement.

MEMO

TO:All US Airways Employees

FROM: Sherry Shamblin

SUBJECT: InFlight Beverage Support Material

In order to make our hard working Flight Attendents job a little easier and manage customer expectations we have come up with some stickers designed to reinforce the fact that we charge for soft drinks in coach.

As in the past our freeloading First Class customer will continue to recieve free beverages.

These smart and stylish stickers wil be attached to the bulkheads and lav doors in various sizes. The slogan will read, "Arse, Gas or Cash, no one drinks free"

This slogan gets our message accross in a humorous way and will help with unruly passengers and further make your life easier.

Please be on the lookout as we roll out the new signage over the next 30 days

Regards

Sherry

Bob, I think there is a typo in the memo... It was supposed to say...

Please be on the lookout as we roll out the new signage "on select aircraft over the next 300 days".

Day 7 of transcons- again-no problem. Cutting people slack.

This changes the mindset of PAX in back.

Gives us lots of "customer recovery tools".

Psychology is a wonderful thing.

Receipts are available.
