No Free Coffee on US Airways

I can't speak for my fellow frequent flyers, but I plan on sticking around here even after I have moved my business to CO. I still care about the employees and the fate of the company.

As do I. I also do fly them when absolutely necessary, but not enough to maintain even silver status. I might fly on them, on average, once every 2 months.

I heard a rumor that the Sand Castle is already re-evaluating the prices we're charging for beverages in coach. Apparently, week over week, there has been a BIG decline in revenue generated as passengers exercise their right to get more for less by purchasing a beverage in the airport, and bringing it onboard. It seems that $2 cans of Coke on the airplane are going over just like $4.50 a gallon gas. We certainly didn't sell too many between CLT and PHX today.

Watch Tempe try to spin it as being the cost of oil coming down the reason for lowering prices, or eliminating the whole program. It’s not in their DNA to admit a mistake.

New FA sales contest; first prize a Cadillac, second prize a set of steak knives, third prize you’re fired!

What they did wasn’t a mistake , and I’m not so sure we should rush to do away with the money makers we’ve inacted , we need to be the very last airline that discontinues all of the new revenue streams so we can soak up as much money as possible should the price of oil fall even more dramatically

Our enemy may no longer be oil , it may in fact be the depressed us economy .. oil was the knife in our nations back , it broke us , now we’re in a slow death here … (you might see the price of oil rise if the pipe line in Georgia gets damaged due to the fighting . )

Sure we had a 300 point gain in the dow today … but there are only so many investors left to run into the burning house … sooner or later when enough of them don’t come out again , the other investors sitting by the side lines are going to get the picture …

My out look for the us economy remains the same , great depression 2 .

Well, DUH!!!

If they're going to be the only airline to charge for beverages, they should at least get the pricing correct. Gee......On THE APPRENTICE, that would be grounds for Donald Trump to point and say "You're Fired!"

I'm wondering if the combination of the beverage charges and the 8/5 cutoff for elites being able to book flights which will earn them bonus miles resulted in a steep dropoff of bookings?

Where did you read about steep dropoff of bookings? Source? Link?

HELLO! Add reading comprehension to your skill set.

Did you notice the word "Wondering"?? As in asking a question or stating a theory

HELLO!! Add DON'T CARRY THAT TONE WITH ME!!

Listen PB, I don't know what hair you have up your butt, but I don't appreciate the tone. I can read and comprehend just fine! This is what I took from said quote/ Please don't insult me!

If you are going to state a theory like that, you should have some proof that what you are stating is actually true. There was no I think or I feel, or I theorize! And there is no may have resulted or might result. Big difference in my opinion IF I'm allowed one from you!

Actually, the word is that the beverages selling is doing far better than they expected.....even F/A's are saying that they haven't deposited that much money in years from these flights. They are saying though that some flights sell next to nothing but others are doing pretty well. So, I guess it just depends on the odds, as usual. Passenger perception overall not bad either, you have the occasional negative person who wants to make a scene because they're miserable so everybody has to be miserable! Gee, we've not seen that before! Also heard that the Brinks safes were full in PHL over the weekend so crew were using the old safes next to them to deposit monies. I have a feeling the beverage charging is here to stay!

Wondering is implying a question, not stating a fact. And is the combiner of the question separating it into multiple questions. (deleted by moderator)

Sorry, Professor, I read it as an assumption. My original response was if there actually WAS any proof to back up her "question". I will go back to that. With the "questioning", is there PROOF that bookings are down because of what that was "questioned"?
And BTW, I was NOT being touchy. I was responding to an angry, inappropriate post ...(deleted by moderator)
