No Free Coffee on US Airways

In any case, I think that water should still be offered for free.
Would someone please help me understand why the bottled water we sell ,with a brand mind you, should be given away for free. Did we not have to pay for those bottles of water we sell? If I buy a coffee at any store and ask for water, it's either free tap or paid bottle.

I would like to feel sorry for your causes...really I would! Unfortunately nothing that was predicted is coming to fruition. US is still loading planes and the workload has only changed hours.

I said it before and I'll be ignored again...eventually there will be less soda=less inventory=less weight=better fuel savings! The way I see it, this is a warped futuristic way to save on fuel and money.

Since airport businesses tend to feed off of each other, I believe that even from the concessions and vending machines airlines get a kickback. Especially if they are in their terminals or areas.

In an airport, everything is in someway connected. From the airlines to the car rentals to the restaurants to ground transportation to gift shops to maintenance to parking to the hotels to any other bull$#!7 that is located there. Tell me I'm wrong and come away from your fenced-in community and take a closer look at your surroundings.

Keep in mind that this is the begining of a new trend, As more people get accustomed to this, more people will by their drinks and the work load load will increase.

For now it's just a handful.
Just wait until an aircraft full of people decide to buy their drinks.

Let's decide then how easy it is.

Easy or not, here it comes  I'm guessing that the longer the flight, the more drinks will be sold.

In the long run your job will get easier as less children will be *boinkin'* off the walls in the aircraft because of their fourth can of Coke

Tell me that ain't priceless!

Too bad the door can't be opened while their *boinkin*.

Flew TPA-PHX-ONT on Fri and return today. Seemed to go fairly smooth. I heard one lady behind me complain, but it wasnt about the soda, she said she could see paying for that, but she thought the first bag fee was bad since you have to take clothes with you. Other than that, I didnt hear or see anyone in the couple rows around me have a problem paying if they wanted a drink. We bought a can and got two cups since we dont usually drink the whole can. Did have the FA on one flight advise customers to write if they didnt like the new charge.
On a side note, the hotel we stayed in had free water (tap), or a small 16oz bottle in the room for $3. The larger 32 oz bottle we bought in the lobby was $6. Not that I like spending that much money for water, but at midnight with no car, you pay for it if you want it. $2 for our 16 oz bottles doesnt look so bad now. ;)

Since I am on vacation - YEAH - have talked to all my friends who are out there flying. Not one has said this new procedure is a problem - in fact they think it is easier. The one negative is the form (too complicated) and the cart pack outs are not consistent, but that is it. They have had hardly anyone complain - everyone is playing nice and they are all suprised how well it went. My one friend worked a 4 day and collected 675.00. Not bad considering that was going to be given away if we hadn't been charging and probably more since it would have been free. I think the pax all get it - everything is changing - but this is not the event that everyone predicted. I think in the end this will be good..... if it saves my job I am all for it.

Whether intended or a shot in the the dark, after four transcons in four days including one on the new 321 w/ no IFE - no problem.

It's almost strange how when expectations are lowered/changed that PAX -I hate to say it-fall in line.

Old school is dead, except for INT & HI.

Believe it or not ,we make money-almost as much as flogging credit cards.

For "Barbell" or anyone above-whoever thought this up deserves a promotion and a raise.

That's how I would run this circus.

Nice job when you try to actually run an airline vs. selling/buying airlines.

Now if you offered meaningful buy-outs you could actually change the culture of this airline.

That's what I would do if I ran this place-since you asked.
