New Fa Uniforms

I just spoke to my supervisor and they were informed that the f/a's would be getting new uniforms in the future. The good news is that the f/a's will get to choose from prototypes selected from the f/a group, which will be worn by f/as on the line. The f/a's will decide. Now that's a switch.

My vote? While SWA is more of a Gap look, I would like to see us go with a dressy/casual Bananna Republic look that could have a shirt/tie added for the guys for intl and shirt/scarf for the women.

Any thoughts?

I still want a tie and jacket or sweater but its all about change now and I am going to keep an open mind. This is all good. I'm glad this is the kind of thing we have to think about now.

At HP they made ties optional unitl the end of the summer dress code 10/31. They were always so adement that was not acceptable in the past, to all of a sudden give in was weird. Like waiting for the other shoe to drop. Maybe there is a polo shirt option waiting next year, or a sporty button down.

yes, but envoy seats get much higher fares

and, europeans are more dressy than americans in general--i think a more casual image internationally is not the way to go. Dressy casual (as firstamendment calls it)--or business casual--is not a bad idea--most people are business casual these days anyway.

i think it should be a choice. like song does. if you want to be dressy then they have a jacket with a shirt and tie. if you want to be casual you can wear pants with a polo shirt and no tie. they also have a vest for guys that can be worn with a tie and no jacket.
ladies can wear a casual dress with a scarf or no scarf (your choice) or flat front pants with a nice shirt and a scarf around the neck. but no shorts and sneakers. we are not in a band camp. ties for men, should be optional .

I sorta like dressing up. Having a nicer uniform would really make US stand out from other airlines that are considered LCC's

I think a navy blue suit with red and white strip around sleeve of jacket, and a red and white strip on epelets would be hot. A tie or tab with red in it would be cool.

It would be nice if the uniform would somehow recognize our carribbean/sun city service. It would be neat if their was a Hawaiian styled shirt with stylized postcards of all the "Hot" spots we fly to!

It is just awful to see the female FAs without the tab on and their shirt unbuttoned down to the..well you know what. What are some of these women thinking?!
Oh and now it seems to be the "cool" thing for the male FAs to not wear their tie while inflight. Grow up people.
