More Time for Judge Lane

I am no expert but based on the testimony and questions asked by Judge Lane, I believe the "me too" clause agreed to by the TWU just shot our chances into below nil.

Judge Lane now can do nothing to help the unratified groups without abrogating or modifying the already ratified agreements.

Stupid is as Stupid does by the TWU.

Funny how the groups that vote no still get hosed by the groups that bent over and grabbed their ankles. I am so tired of this stuff. We have NEVER benefited by "Me too" language in contracts, but we may get screwed by it. How fitting. Stop the bus I wanna get off!

IIRC,
I don't know of any unions in BK that didn't have the "me too" clause just in case 'someone else' was savvy enough to get a better deal.
So yes, it bites because whatever you negotiate below the ask will be applied to the rest of the 'me too'.
The historical pecking order has been:
1. Non Contract/Non Union worker bees (whatever the case may be but the have no me too clause).
2. Unionized Ramp
3, Unionized stores
4. M&R
5. FA's
6. Pilots
7. SAM (Salary and Management) {More-so salary than management}
8. Executives (Yea, that will never happen)

Strange the 'me too' clause only applies to the unionized workers.

The Delta NWA merger took place in BK. Heard Akins say that yesterday.

And you're a union rep???? You should have known that Akins was wrong as soon as the words came out of his mouth. Delta and Northwest both emerged from bankruptcy in 2007. Rumors of a potential DL/NW merger didn't start circulating till early 2008 and the merger didn't close till late 2008 - about a year AFTER NW emerged from bankruptcy and about 1-1/2 years AFTER DL emerged from bankruptcy.

That Akins lied under oath was bad enough, but that puts anything he said in doubt - the general legal theory is "wrong about one, wrong about all" - if a witness is wrong about one thing, he/she can be considered to be wrong about everything he/she says.

I know two that are leaving to go to Spirit Aerosystem Next Door to the Tulsa Base. Both have over 20 years.
Small cut in pay, 16 hours Overtime per week, and after 5 years a pension of $800+ per month. AA has not been told yet, but they plan on walking out by June 1st without notice.

Rumor has it that Spirit is currently hiring 200. With the Bus Plant moving in 6 months, and Spirit taking over Air Force Building #3 and then 500 more to be hired then. R&D on narrow body composite A/C and some contract on wings for a third party.

Spirit would love to have the 20 year experience guys, and leave AA with upgraded building cleaners and relatives that cannot work on lawn mower mufflers.

AA is about to cut it's own nut sack. Bean Counter ignorance, nowhere to get your work outsourced but threatening to do so. Stupid Stupid Stupid

Sometimes I wonder just how much talant AA is getting ready to lose.

Not as much in quanity yet, but a heck of a lot in quality talent. The real good ones are trickling out the door to Southwest and elsewhere. Those who haven't yet, are also looking to leave. Many really good mechanics at the base here are going to leave the industry all together when it shuts down.
