1-I know 5990 :afro: . After that I quit because I figured I had enough data. 2-Maybe some usually don't, but this one does and I think you may have had at one time. 3-Bitter is a tough pill. 4-You have to be a less than honest person to deceive about what happened in ’92. Finally-I am glad you are getting yours now.

PitGuy,

Sorry, but the throw them all in the same barrel attitude is wrong. You should take a logic course and I am sure that you will understand.

Then again, you already have your mind set.

I find it very amusing how some pilots worry about solidarity at this point of the game. I mean if you were going to stand up don't you think you should have done it a few years ago? And another thing....is these scabs now scabbing the same scabs that scabbed the I.A.M. represented Mechanics back in 1992?

700UW,

Just in case you missed the prior.

The facts are not getting in my way tonight.

Seen Lavman lately?

I never called a pilot that was not here on the property in 1992 a scab and when referring to making a stand that was making reference to U leading the way to the bottom. There really is nothing left worth fighting for now. You should have stood up a few years back.

This is where we part company in agreement. The mechanics lost money and benefits no doubt, but ask the ones looking for work right know if they would turn down a job making the wages and benefits the mechanics still standing are commanding. Yes I am referring to Pittsburgh and surrounding area, but even so going elsewhere where the cost of living is a lot higher I am sure most would jump at the opportunity. I know what I am talking about. I have a son who has a high level of education and I know a lot of people bidding back into the system commuting when they said they never would and I know people taking jobs which requires their wife to work to make ends meet. Your comment was not logical but emotional because there sure as hell is something left worth fighting for when that something enables a family to survive. Obviously I am speaking to the masses that don't hold colleges educations or skills outside of aviation. Your comment means that jobs paying over $20 an hour with benefits are not worth fighting for and everyone under that mark is on welfare or dead, look again.

Kurt,
Let me explain as I have done in previous posts the pasts. I would have walked out with no job and I have a wife with that stays at home taking care of our children versus staying for the deal that was approved by the membership. I personally would have been at my limit of self value. The reason why I left U was I was not working for the money they were paying. It was not a true livable wage. I was and am worth more than U would pay (the proof is in the pudding). I realize some mechanics have special situations such as you with your wife and treatment she requires could be forced to ride it out. Some folks though are just not that employable and really have no choice because there would not be very many employers interested in them since they are not polished and have limited communication skills let alone more advanced skills required in this tight employment market. So the way I see it most of the cream of the crop left. Also to me retiring to work another job is not retiring. It is just getting another job and starting to cash in on your pension most likely due to one needing the money. As always Kurt I wish you and your family the best. I by no means am all about money and was not raised on a silver spoon, but $50k a year could not cut it for me as sole provider for my family. I value myself higher.

-Just got back from a local country club business dinner and on Thursday being taken out on the town for entertainment, food and drinks. Business lunches all this week. Life is good. I valued myself higher and it paid off. It could for many at U also. There are a lot of good employees there. They just have to go out and get it. Believe in yourself.

:groovy:

Wow.

Nice to see everyone stayed on the MDA/Republic change of control issues. Other than most of the last 4 pages, the postings were somewhat related. :)
