I guess my question is, are there ENOUGH willing FA's to go over to MidAtlantic
to fill their demand? How many rumored FA's out of the furloughs are making the move over to Express?
Not from our furloughed list. We have approx 2,000 INVOL furloughed. I know they sent the letters to the top 1,000. I do believe Colby's is correct, management will probably burn through the list by years end and then start to hire of hte street.
I have a hypothetical seniority question with respect to MDA.

Let's say F/A "John" who was one of the early furloughs accepts a job at MDA. I know that he would carry over his mainline seniority number with respect to nonrev travel. But then let's say that there is another round of mainline furloughs and F/A "Julie" gets her mainline notice and decides to go to MDA training. Would John be senior to Julie for trip bidding, since John was at MDA earlier? Or would Julie's mainline seniority trump John?

I was just wondering if this issue has been addressed.
Julie would be senior to John, and once Julie is Involuntary furloughed, she would have to wait for an opening in MDA. She maybe senior to John once on MAA, but she can not displace him to the street.

 OK.

starting pay rates at MDA are the same as American Eagle, which is alot less than PSA. Start pay is $12.91/block hour! talk about welfare wage! I don't believe they are going to take furloughed and start them at their longevity. I'm SURE they will start the payscale at the starting rate ... new airline?

Does ANYONE know anything about who's at training right now for FAs? If any? If so what's their status ie. are they from the latest rounds of furloughs?

Where does the seniority number stand in terms of involuntary furloughs ? is it May 1999 like I heard?

PitBul ... you're not a U employee? I'm surprised, you're soo knowledgeable. I read and trust your posts. so i was surprised when I saw the disclaimer.

If you went to the AFA USAirways site.... You will see in the Q & A that whatever your seniority at U at time of Furlough will be your starting Rate at MAA....

I have 3yrs and will be paid the same as a 3year AA Eagle F/A according to what I had read in the Q & A....

One of my Friends was supposed to start Training FEB 2... That was Postponed...Haven't heard when they plan on starting the Training...I would imagine Beginning of March... For Furloughed F/A s it is only a 10-day training!!! SO they would be able to get people through Fairly quickly !!!

Hope that helps..... ;)

hey thanks for your input. I must have overlooked that part! Whew! it's still less than mainline but still pretty "yucky"!

Can I ask where your friend stood in senioirty? I'm from 01/01 and was just curious.

Also the AFAUsairways sight has not been updated since January 30. What's up wth that? <_<

As far as I know, invol F/As up to around Feb 2000 or so (class 02-00 or 03-00?) have recieved interest letters, but I dont think the number of interested F/As has been released. From what I'm hearing, many are telling US to stuff it with thier insulting job offer- too little, too late.

If they really are going to be flying in April they need to hurry up and get a class together.

This is where it gets interesting.... This person was one of the Furloughs from Jan 15th... So, this person recieved a Letter from MAA basically Resinding the offer to MAA... I don't remember what their Seniority is.

I do have another friend that was from Oct. 1999 so I'll see what they Tell this F/A and try and keep you updated !!!! ;)

As far as the Website..... Couldn't even start to guess what's going on !!!

Well, I'm from 01/01 and I did not receive an interest letter and they DO have my address. No-one that I know from my class received on either.

It should prove to get interesting that's true!

THANK YOU! Mahalo! and all that fun stuff !

Wait in line........... My class was May 2000 !!!!!

I believe they got as far as March 2000 !!!!

Wow, is there some misinformatin on here lately.

Here is the deal. The $12 an hour wage that is on the AA contract IS NOT MAA's!! They will start at just shy of $18 an hour.
Training will NOT be 10 days. It will be only 3-5 days depending on your needs (how long you have been gone).
Training IS scheduled to start on March 1st. Notification has not been sent yet. It is my understanding the it is not 48 f/a's it is less than that.
This is all I know that is factual information.

hey i'm just gleaning off the website that AFA has in terms of payscales. It said to refer to AE contract for workrules and salary.

Well if they only need about 48n FAs then I guess I'll just get to the back of the line  Colby ... ya with me?

So you mean to tell me that MDA or MAA, you will loose senority and not gain? If this is the case, the what is the point?

I am right there with ya !!!!!!!! Im trying to piece together info as I recieve it...

I too was going by the AFA website.... As far as PayScale.... According to the Q & A that I read last year was that your pay would be equal to what a AA Eagle F/A with your Seniority makes.....

As far as Training March 1st.... That's the 1st I heard of it... One of my Friends should be in that class and HAS NOT recieved any info.... So, Like I say... Im just trying to get out as much info as I can...

As far as the 48 F/A's if you go back and re read what I wrote...that is what was in the Philly Paper.... We all know how dependable the Journalists are these days !!!

You don't lose or gain with mainline. Your mainline seniority freezes until you come back. If you leave with 4.5 years and are at MAA for 2 years and go back to mainline you will return with 4.5 years, but with 6.5 years of company seniority for travel only.

What is the point? Job or no job!!
No one is pointing a gun at any one of our heads to go there. If anyone can find anything else better, well then go for it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If at MAA seniority doesn't accure, then maybe one shouldn't go over there.

Here is the deal folks. Training is starting March 1st with 36 flight attendants. It ended with the Dec 1999 training date. Those who bid February originally are the ones that are coming. Everything is behind one month. Revenue flights are being sold for April 4th.......and have been sold. Everyone that is supposed to receive a packet did today. Will they all go? Who knows? Most of the people now are coming. They have been gone for a while and have no severence/unemployment issues to sway them to stay away.

Thankyou for setting this staight.... I did just hear about the March 1st training date..... Spoke with a couple of my friends that are going to that class !!!
Please if you hear more keep us posted... Thankyou .......... CB
