Mesa and US reach restructuring agreement

Sadly Parker makes a great point.

Mesa is a scar upon the aviation landscape. Much like a strip mine in many ways. However, US has the unique opportunity to hold Mesa's future in the palm of its hand. Let's hope that DP will leverage this for his employees and customers

NYGiants,

I used to work for Mesa in planning and I have seen the CPA with USAirways/HP. It is SOLELY the responsibility of HP/US to tell YV the type of seats, seat covers, seat back pocket, livery, design, etc of the interior AND exterior of the aircraft, with exceptions to in house spares which may be a "neutral" branding. US dictates how many spares are in the system, they dictate when the planes get repainted, etc.

The terrible seats? Thank HP for that. Lack of F cabin? Thank HP for that (they also had it yanked out). the way the agreement is written is how people tell it - US pays YV for an 86 seat jet, US keeps all the revenue, and pays YV the agreed upon block hour plus fuel costs (and whatever else is passed along).

I'm not sure who has comfortable seats in the CRJ 900 :/
