Merger Information - watch CNBC

"To rationalize international flying, the merged company will work with Airbus to transition to an all-Airbus international fleet of A330 aircraft and, beginning in 2011, A350 aircraft."

This looks interesting.

Approvals

Under the terms of the agreement, the merger is expected to occur subsequent to confirmation of US Airways' plan of reorganization and emergence from Chapter 11. Because the merger and related equity investments are subject to US Airways' pending Chapter 11 proceedings in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in Alexandria, the transaction will also have to be approved by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and will be subject to a competitive bidding process that will be proposed to the Court. The transaction, which has been approved by both company's boards of directors, is also subject to the approval of America West's shareholders

What can happen in BK court that could bring this merger to a grinding halt,
leave your speculations below ..please

sounds more like smoke and mirrors to me...by 2011 all the rules will have changed a 100 times...but as always...just my humble opinion. Stand by to stand by...its going to get ugly for the worker bees.

So definately no Republic? Will the "MidAtlantic division" remain intact, or will the 170/190s be fully integrated into the mainline? What about Piedmont and PSA?

I don't think many of the top dogs will go to Tempe, I think they just wanted out with their bonuses. I think Doug's people will be running the whole show.

Just covered that, LY. The Repbulic a/c-slot agreement still stands, but it's uncertain whether the transactions will proceed.

Guess y'all need to get used to things running on Mountain Standard Time.

Where's Mesa stand with all that? You've got AirWisc putting up money, and having lost the UAL flying, they've got lots of planes with no place to fly. Assume for a moment that Republic enters the picture, and there's less and less reason for Mesa to remain on the property....

with HP fare structure on east coast .... forget about parking planes ..... demand will go through the roof!

Fuzzy math... but ti sounds like we are 58 mainline A/C by the end of 2006 (down from 419 current combined fleet) but that we will begin taking deliveries of A320 family a/c in 2006, plus begin phasing in the A331-200, plus beginning in 2011 start bringing in the 350's. Growth anticipated... we haven't seen that in a little while!

I wonder if we are phasing out the 767's or if we will maybe use them on domestic. That would be nice!

DCA-

Oh no please......those 767's are filthy and a mess. Just let them go b/c they are a nightmare to work. Duct tape all over and just a shame. It would take serious $$$ to make them presentable.
