What's new

Mark Foley. Cover up?

Its going to be soooo funny when it come out the dems sat on this crap and used it for political mileage.then they will have to explain why THEY didn't do anything about it since THEY were sitting on it since 2003

AFter 12 years of Republican ruling the house and senate, changing ideology this time around is a welcome by millions of Americans...November can't come soon enough.

Ahh...liberalism isn't an idealology...its a known sickness 😉

Sentrido-I think  you have serious party issues...bet you're a repub who hasn't come out of the closet...

don't tell anyone but I was listening to Hannity today...

And this whole Foley thing was known since '03 and its begining to look like maybe the Repub's were blind sided with another dem slight of hand as it was leaked on the last day before adjournment and the emails were not to be made public as per the parents of the young pages requested....anyone say SOROS?

Just occurred to me ... It's the 'vast left wing conspiracy' theory. Let see how well that one floats.

The "Right Wingers" are done for a very long time. I think many of them are all about being dictators of morality, greed, big business and war mongers.

Bush is a lame duck. Thank god he won't be able to do any more damage to the world his last two years.
Yea, sure, a democrat sat on it...

There's nothing negative about never being married in itself, BUT...one would have to ponder the profile, then further contemplate why an individual would be sending such suggestive correspondences to minors, never being married, etc... wouldn't one? Just to ensure safety? Wouldn't you expect that of Congress if you had a child who received a job as a Page? Kids are naive. The pages look at congressional leaders as movie stars. Would be easy prey for a sicko.

You're asking the leadership to act on information they didn't have!! Let me say this one more time...
The only information that was out there was that he had emailed this kid and the emails contained NOTHING suggestive and were deemed to be "overly friendly". He was called to the carpet on that issue by the Speaker and told not to converse with this kid any longer.
The leadership did not know of the instant messages that contained the gross comments from Foley. Now that's not to say no one knew about them because obviously someone did because they sat on them for 3 years. THOSE messages were released last Friday by ABC News and moments later were on the Moveon.org website. The question is WHO had them and why did they come out now. The timing is impeccable to say the least.
The parents didn't release them because they wanted to keep it quiet. Foley surely knew about them but for obvious reasons he didn't release them.
It'll come out eventually and then we'll have a much clearer picture of who is responsible. I have my suspicions and obviously they are much different than yours. I'll just say for the Liberal Dems sake they better hope they come out smelling like a nice fresh rose on this one because if it comes out before the election that they orchestrated this release your comments about the GOP being done for a long time will be a play on role reversal and the Donkey will be sent off to the dog food processing plant.

Its on record that the parents of those under aged pages did not want the emails released....so how did they get released?? Soros is involved...
Time will tell...sure seems like those same old underhanded moves by your good 'ol democrats....anything to get back in control....

lets hold this until right before they adjourn for the elections....

dem lackeys AKA Soros is involved. 😉
You know...if you stop and think about it...this is straight out of the Rove playbook. Guess the dems were paying attention, huh?

Just occurred to me ... It's the 'vast left wing conspiracy' theory. Let see how well that one floats.
Your left wingers are already broadcasting tv/radio spots saying congress admiting covering these allegations up....

saying foley admitted having 'sexual' contacts with the pages...

saying foley was convicted...

Fair and balanced ,eh?

of course no reasonable person will for one moment think this whole ordeal is/was and shall be exploited for the dem's gain.funny isn't it?

Freudian slip or does the shoe fit:

GOP! Ha! even when thier busted its the dems fault! Keep blaming the dems you losers, but you better wake up, your views represent a shrinking minorty in America. And guess what, it isnt cause you are smarter than everyone. Would you blame the dems if Foley was hitting on your child? Yea, I'm sure youd be helping your GOP leaders make excuses for not doing anything about it.

What a moron! Do you ever read anything other than the propaganda put out by the DNC?
Everyone has denounced this as sick and disgusting. It's not a Republican or Democratic issue. Foley is a twisted, warped and disgusting individual and should be ostracized from society. That's my opinion.
As for the shrinking minority in this country you better look around because it's YOU that is part of that group.

PS...based on the Lib motto shouldn't you be wrapping your arms around Foley and helping him in his time of need? He's come out and said he was gay, he apologized and he cried. Usually that's enough for you and your panty waist party to hold him close and wipe his tears while handing him a check for his pain and suffering. Where's your compassion now? I bet he'd even convert to your party since the GOP wants nothing to do with him and his twisted and sick self. Your party on the other hand is full of people just like him. I bet Barney Frank is visiting him as we speak if for nothing else than to give him pointers on how to get away with it next time.

You're the man MrAeroMan...the lost are so far gone everything is upset down in their distorted world view. They are lost and firmly in the hands of the God of this planet, pity them.

Now wait a sec.

They knew enough to ask him to ‘stop’. If they asked him to stop, why on earth would they not look into it further? Given this day and age where child predators are on ever street corner, one would think that they would have at least made the effort to look into it further knowing that if a politician lied (yea I know, how often does that happen) it would come back to bite them in the ass.

I appreciate the whole innocent till proven guilty thing and in most case I abide by the same rule. One of the few exceptions is politicians. Seem to save so much time by assuming that they are lying (after al their lips were moving when they spoke) and to let them prove they are innocent. That policy applies to both sides of the aisle.

Were the Dems sitting on it? Probably. Did the Reps know about it? Probably. And if they did not that’s only because they did not look. In my opinion, if they had reason enough to tell Foley to back off, they had reason enough to look deeper. These were minors that were involved. You don’t take chances like that.

Not sure what that’s all about but what ever floats your boat.

saying foley admitted having 'sexual' contacts with the pages...
Gosh...this is starting to sound more like "It depends on what your definition of "is" is".
saying foley was convicted...

of course no reasonable person will for one moment think this whole ordeal is/was and shall be exploited for the dem's gain.funny isn't it?
wow...this sounds more and more like the "Clinton apologists"...And we all know how the "allegations" against Clinton were never used for the Republicans gain...right?

I was trying to get Pitbull to understand what was known and what wasn't known. She's mixing the 2 and it's not adding up.
Look, I'm not saying the Republican's are saints here anymore than you're saying the Democrats are saints but holding them to a higher standard than those that came before them is pure bunk.
Whoever knew about this stuff should be outed and the wrath of scrutiny should fall squarely on them no matter what party they're a part of.

As for the Lib motto that was in response to Sentrido and his ramblings.

it was 'alleged' and proven on several occasions he lied.

it was 'alleged' and proven he had a 'sexual relationship' with a young woman a little older than his own daughter.(one of a few others BTW)yes he did talk on the phone while she had her mouth full.

campaigning with outright lies is ok in your book?

my book says something to the effect about bearing false witness...oh,excuse me,you don't allow or want to hear about that tawdry subject now do you?

Foley trying to get into the pants of young pages isn't right.
But if the dems held onto this for political gain, they too are just as guilty.

He was also alleged to have murdered Vince Foster. He was alleged and not proven to have broken any laws in Whitewater. He was alleged to have engaged in oral sex with an intern. Just on the power of those allegations, he was brought before a grand jury and questioned. The republicans did a helluva lot of grandstanding on simple "allegations.

It seemed to work well for the Republicans. Remember a group called "Swift Boat Veterans for the Truth"?

my book says something to the effect about bearing false witness...oh,excuse me,you don't allow or want to hear about that tawdry subject now do you?
I recall that quite well. I also recall Jerry Falwell peddling a videotape that all but accused Bill and Hillary Clinton of murdering Vince Foster.

As I said...they took a page right out of Karl Rove's handbook. It ain't pretty...is it?

Wow....its starting to come out (poor choice of words):

Fair and Balanced

A radical activist on a mission to "out" conservative homosexual lawmakers and Capitol Hill staffers held on to information about Rep. Mark Foley's relationships with underage male pages, suggesting the story would break at the time of mid-term elections. Among nearly 20 names on the "target list" provided to the Blade were Foley and Democratic Sen. Barbara Mikulski of Maryland

He was alleged to have engaged in oral sex with an intern.

Yep...little Monica screwed that denial up now didn't she? 😱
She shoulda kept her mouth shut for several reasons....

As I said...they took a page right out of Karl Rove's handbook. It ain't pretty...is it?

I believe Jim Carville and Leon Podetta lent it to Karl

But it was PROVEN he lied and committed perjury.

The republicans did a helluva lot of grandstanding on simple "allegations.

Simple or not the allegations were proven.

It seemed to work well for the Republicans. Remember a group called "Swift Boat Veterans for the Truth"?

Are you saying the Swift Boat Vets lied?

I recall that quite well. I also recall Jerry Falwell peddling a videotape that all but accused Bill and Hillary Clinton of murdering Vince Foster.

This was Jerry Falwell excercising his freedom of speech. No different than Hillary going on The Today Show ranting about a "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy".

As I said...they took a page right out of Karl Rove's handbook. It ain't pretty...is it?

Dell said it right....Karl Rove learned well from Carville, Begalla and Company.

Go back to the 200 Rep primaries. I believe it was in one of the Carolinas. Go look at what Rove and party did to McCain. He was one of your own. I'll give you a hint. It had to do with his dare skined adopted baby. Talk about campaigning with out right lies. And if you want to go back farther, go back a bit more to his campaign against Ann Richards.
