Mark Foley. Cover up?

Don't mention all the so called immoral things that happened in the "other" party.

Lets not play favorites here, be like Fox, balanced.

Trouble is, there is no balance in this world, it's slanted and depending on your allegiance it's tilt varies.

Yeah. There is no differece between trying to force under age gay sex, and a BJ from a from a willing of age heterosexual.

You Republicans make me sick.

I posted what I did to make a point. Everyone acting shocked at what is the "normal" human condition: Thus our "good works" appear like filthy rags before the holy God (see Isaiah 64:6) and these cannot cover our nakedness.

Everyone living is a sinner and you are debating which level is better /worse: the basic problem of the human heart is sin (see Mark 7:20-23).

This is NOT a Rep or Dem thing people, thinking otherwise is deceiving yourselves.

"And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the plank in your own eye? "Or how can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother's eye."
Luke 6:41-42 NKJV

Like I said...if this was a democrat issue it would be a whole dfferent game and you know it.

BTW- CNN reported that Foley reregistered as a democrat late last nite so this thing will go away...

Funny...this blew over last April,I don't remember hearing about this much...oh,I forgot...he's a dem.

®’s put pedophiles in jail…

There's been a lot of chatter on liberal blogs about the arrest of Department of Homeland Security deputy press secretary Brian Doyle on charges that he was soliciting sex from a 14-year-old girl over the Internet. Most of it involves heaping generous portions of blame on the Bush administration.
Except that Brian (D)oyle is... an ASS:
DHS Child Sex Sting Official Is A Democrat
Much of the reaction was critical of the Bush administration for not properly vetting one of their appointees. That assessment is dead wrong.

Brian Doyle is a career civil servant - NOT a political appointee. Government workers aren't "vetted." Doyle, as a DHS employee probably has a secret or top secret government clearance, but in DC that's hardly a unique commodity in DC.
...
So what do we know about is Brian Doyle? He's a former Time magazine reporter, career civil servant, and a registered Democrat.

In the Huffington Post:
"I don't think this is so much about Foley as it is about the handling of this," said Republican strategist Rick Davis. House Speaker Dennis Hastert has come under fire after reports that he knew Foley was writing personal emails to pages and did little about it. Rep. Tom Reynolds (R-NY) heard about the emails first, and originally informed Hastert almost 11 months ago. Majority Leader John Boehner has known about Foley's contact with the pages since the spring. Other Republicans are struggling to distance themselves from the scandal. Rep. Christopher Shays (R-CT) said about his colleagues when the news first broke, "If they knew or should have known the extent of this problem, they should not serve in leadership." Even Tony Snow today kicked the problem out of the White House: "The House has to clean up the mess." Rick Davis summed up the current situation when he said, "The question becomes who's getting thrown overboard besides Foley to get this to go away."

Tell me about your democrat party and pedophiles.

A platform for pedophiles?

The day before Minnesota passed H.F. 585 in 1993, I was asked to assist parents' rights activists there who were trying to stop this "sexual orientation" bill introduced by a small clique of Democratic legislators.

Too late.

But not too late to kill the pedophile privileges which would take effect in the Democrats' "sexual orientation" bill. The Minnesota's statute spelled out special rights for "sexual or affectional orientation" and "age," jettisoning the God-given rights of parents for the state-given rights of pedophiles. While pedophiles are stealthily included under any new "sexual orientation" law (see the American Psychiatric Association listing of myriad sexual orientations) "affectional" is well known as a term for pedophiles (child molesters) within the sexuality field. So, when you cast your ballots Nov. 7, consider the pedophiles working within the tolerant Democratic Party to legalize "affectional and sexual orientation" and consider the "right" of any "age" child to jettison their biological parents to form a "gay and lesbian family" with adults who had displayed "companionship, interplay and mutuality" -- for a year.

you dem's on your holier than thou crusade make me sick....hows the NAMBLA campain contributions?

"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor sexual perverts, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in The Name of The Lord Jesus Christ and in The Spirit of our God." (1 Corinthians 6:9-11 RSV)

My understanding is that the most graphic of the exchanges are not being released.

As for the dems being responsible for paving the road to hell with 'if it feels good , do it". That's just a load of crap. No one advocates taking advantage of minors and to imply that only weakens you argument. What two (or more) adults do is entirely up to them. When minors get involved and others know about the transgressions but do nothing, that crosses a very distinct line. The repubs did this one all on their own. They sat on the info with out investigating what was going on. Why they did so only they know. Regardless of the explanation, it was foolish and showed an incredible lack of compassion for those affected and an utter lack of a moral compass.

I can only hope this cost most of those bastards their career and possibly their freedom.

On July 14, 1983 during a Democratic controlled House of Representatives there was a little scandal that hit the House involving a Republican from Illinois, Rep. Dan Crane and a Democrat from Massachusetts, Rep. Gerry Studds. Seems in 1980 both of them had relationships with underage pages. Cranes was with a 17 year old female and Studds was with a 17 year old male.

Both admitted to the allegations and Studds went on to admit he was gay. Crane apologized for his transgressions and was thrown out of office by the voters in the next election. Studds would not apologize and he was rewarded by his constituents in a hugely liberal district in Mass. with another 12 years in office before he retired in 1996. The Democratic led House set up a committee to investigate and they recommended the two be reprimanded. It was Newt Gingrich that moved that both of them be thrown out in scandal and the entire heavily Democratic House chose not to expell them and go with the censure.

Then there's former Rep. Mel Reynolds a Dem. from Illinois. He was accused of having sex with a 16 year old girl that worked for his campaign and then pressured her into lying about it. He denied the charges (what a surprise) and then played the race card. He was given a standing ovation by his democratic colleagues in the House when he returned after the scandal and then went on to be convicted the next year on 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice and solicitation of child pornography.

Democrats and libs have no room to talk here. Both are just as guilty as the other yet here we are today with the election just around the corner and they decide they're going to make it an election issue because they are so desperate to be in control of Congress again. These are desperate times for sure for the libs and their eagerness to regain their lost power.

So what are you saying? Just because the Dems get away with so should the Reps? Or are you saying that the Reps are not better then the Dems since both side do the same reprehensible things? Perhaps you are suggesting that the Reps get a pass on this since the Dems did?

The Dems should have been put in jail. They were not because the foxes are left to guard the hen house. The thing is, now it is your turn. The Reps are in the spot light. So what are you going to do? Just site there and tell the public "hey, the Dems did it too". That’s right up there with "Mom, he started it". If the best you can offer is that the Dems do it to, your party is no better than mine.

Neither party can claim the moral high ground because every time something happens to the Dems, the Reps get on their soap box, point their finger and ‘tsk tsk tsk’ yet when it happens to them the Dems do the same stupid thing. The end result being that neither party actually steps up to the plate and does the right thing.

Studds, Crain, Reynolds, Hasert, Foley and all the others (past and present) should be serving time in jail. They should be banned from government office and should be banned from doing with the government.

When the Reps make a big stink about Clinton getting a blow job in the oval office what do you expect when you get caught with your hand in the cookie jar? Of course the Dems are going to hit back. What Clinton did was wrong. I do not feel it warranted the reaction it received but that is an unrealistic expectation when dealing with politicians. So now the shoe is on your foot. Deal with it. Stop whining and deal with it. I know that is far to much to expect from The Reps as they are only concerned with maintaining their power base so that they may remain in power. Dems do the same stupid thing. You would think one of these boneheads would actually read a few history books and realize that the odds of getting caught are pretty good. You would also hope that someone with just an ounce of moral fiber would actually step up to the plate and say "you know, I F%*ked up. I’m sorry. I quit." I also believe in the tooth fairy and the Easter Bunny.

And right you are...but time and time again things that happen on the leftside and mediawise its not mentioned much.
But whooo doggies...let it happen to a rightwinger...bingo...front page stories....fair and balanced?

'Sheets' Byrd, Klansman-no big deal
Trent Lott- makes some offhand remark-off with his head

What? Clinton was not scandalized for getting blow job in the white house? I do not recall Lott getting any more ink than Byrd did. Both of them should have been out off office but the voting public and the powers that be did not think that was appropriate.

Fair and balanced? Who the hell cares. the papers will print anything that sells. They are in it for the buck.

Again, I don't care what the Dems or Reps did in the past. That is done. The Reps have been claiming the moral high ground since Clinton got his blow job in the white house. Now they are caught harboring a child predator and they are doing what? We will take care of it in house? BS. Saying that we did this or that the Reps were given a raw deal or ..... what ever.

All I am saying is that until one of the parties actually steps up the plate and does what is right when it is NOT politically wise to do so nothing will change. Your moral high ground is in the same muddy cesspool that mine is. Blaming it on the media or this that or the other thing is just spilled milk. In my opinion, you are trying toprove that Stalin is better then Mao or Krusheve (sp). They are both a$$ holes. The Reps do not have any more moral fortitude than the Dems. And neither have any more moral fortitude than a snake oil sales man. I vote Dem because I believe they are better (not by much) for the environment and I do not want the christain right controlling the Federal bench. You vote for Reps probably for similar reasons. Neither of us (I hope) are foolish to vote for them because we think they are moral upstanding citizens who walk on water. I would not entrust any of them to pick up the crap my dog leaves in the yard after her constitutionals.

As far as the media is concerned, I think Reagan and Bush got a free ride from them. I am guessing you dissagree so since we both dont agree, probably means that for the most part, it is ballanced. People see what they want to see. If you like Mel Gibson, what he says will not affect you. If you cant stand him, what he said will just prove your point.

People hear what they want about politicians. Perhaps they will wake up one day. Perhaps pigs will learn to fly.

No, I'm not saying that just because the Dems got away with it then so too should the GOP. If you read what I posted I said he should be locked up and the key thrown away. What I also said was they are BOTH guilty and BOTH parties have no room to grandstand on this issue.
No one is whining except a few on here that are whining because Hastert hasn't resigned. The facts as we know them is Hastert didn't know of the 3 year old instant messages until just this past Friday when ABC announced it. Someone held onto to those messages and broke this story at a most opportune time for the Dems. It's playing political football with an issue that is disgusting. If it's proven a Dem had that information and held onto it to create an election year chaos for the GOP then I'd hope you'd jump up and down screaming and asking why in the he!! did they hold onto that information knowing full well another child could be harmed in doing so. THAT'S what is the million dollar question.
If you remember correctly with Clinton it wasn't the fact that he got a blow job in the Oval Office, it was when Slick Willy pointed his finger at the camera and said he never had sex with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky knowing full well he had and to top it all off he went in front of a grand jury and lied. THAT's what got him in trouble. It's a little thing called perjury and it's against the law so that's what caused his little "mess".

Not sure what you are reading but everything I have read indicates that the Reps knew about it last year and that they were the ones sitting on it.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/20...ert-foley_x.htm

Hastert said last week that he could not recall seeing those messages, but that his top aides and Rep. John Shimkus, a fellow Illinois Republican overseeing the page program, had acted appropriately by trying to resolve the matter as an internal GOP problem rather than mounting a more formal investigation that would have involved Democrats.

Shimkus and the House clerk told Foley last fall to cut off all communication with boy.

So I think you are barking up the wrong tree if you think we were sitting on it to make a stink before the election. Actually, I take that back. We probably were sitting on it due to the fact that you were sitting on it. If the Reps would have done the right thing (you know, the thing you are always accusing us of NOT doing) this would not have been a issue right before the elections where you are asking the nation to trust your leadership abilities and give you another 2 / 4 years. But alas, the Reps could not do the right thing either so they sat on the info not knowing that we knew about it as well and hoped it would go away. Ahhhhh Hope springs eternal.

As far as I am concerned, whether or not Hassert knew is irrelevant. His office was told and he SHOULD have known. They sat on it and hoped it would go away.

As for Clinton. Yes he did commit perjury. He should have just told everyone it was none of their god damn business what he did on his own time but no, the dumb ass lied. I guess I just give it a pass due to the fact that it was regarding sex between two adults, it should not have been blown out of proportion like it was and it did not affect national security, the state of the nation or the price of beer. Just my opinion. I sure as hell would have denied till the end.

I interpreted the "both" as referring to the Dems and Libs mentioned in the previous sentence. My apppologies.

OH BTW, according to his lawyer now Foley is an alcoholic, was abused my a priest and is Gay. Looks like we need a better vetting process for Congress. If he was a transvestite the story would be complete.

Not sure what you are reading but everything I am reading is indicating that it was the Reps who were sitting on the info trying to keep it quiet.
