There was some talk about a re-org/re-structuring within maintenance operations at level 5-6.

Has there been any announcement yet?

I did see a proposed re-structure at TAESL in the Quality group but nothing confirmed yet officially and I've seen no announcements recently.

So..........

Based upon your response you have no relevant information to provide to my question.

Please do me a favor and not respond to this thread unless you have something constructive to say.

Thank you in advance.

In stl they are forcing our current manager out, told him he needs to retire by Jan.  All other level 5 managers are being downgraded to level 4 except one.

In Tulsa management was told they will be notified of the "Cascade" plan in October.  This is after telling them they would be notified in March and then in July.  Who knows when they will do it.  Looks like upper management doesn't know when it's going to be.

So why would you ask for a response that would further add to rumor and conjecture, just got to the source, management!

still doing 2 md-80 b-checks a night.  New vp came thru and told us what a great job we are doing and going to try and keep the work here.  lol heard that before stl maintence will probably be gone in a couple of years when the 80s are gone.  the hangar here in stl is to small to put anything else in and dont think they will make it bigger, lol.

Does anyone know if any current LAA management at any level has been replaced by someone from LUS or vice versa?

Sorry to go off topic but wondering if you would be willing to give us any info on how the card drive is being received by STL folks? Do you see cards being distributed? Any opinions you can share?

I wouldn't wait too long before starting to pack. If you have to pack in a hurry, you will always pack things you meant to throw away, and throw away things you meant to pack. With a statement, such as the vp made, on record, you may be gone by Christmas this year.

"You're doing a great job, and we are going to keep the work here." Definitely a death knell. Maybe what it means is that all S80's will be out of the fleet by the end of the year. That way the statement won't be a total lie. They kept the work at STL, but the problem is that they grounded all the S80s, so there is no more work.

Downgrading the 5's to 4's is just reversing a mistake they made about 12-15 years ago when they upgraded all the 4's to 5's, and IIRC, upgraded the existing 5's to 6's. It created a disparity with every other organization.

Downgrading from a 5 to a 4 may be a big deal to some people.... They'll lose their A10 card, and go into the regular profit sharing plan instead of the management plan.

Pay and benefits?... That's usually left alone. I don't know where the salary cap lies for L4 anymore, but if there is someone whose current pay exceeds the L4 cap, I suspect they'll just freeze their pay until the L4 cap increases above where they are now. I've never heard of an involuntary pay cut from a leveling exercise. Doesn't mean it's not possible, though.

Most of the VP's were replaced with LUS VP's, I think only Government Affairs, Chief Pilot and IT are LAA.  McGovern new head of MTX is LUS.  In Crew Scheduling, the FA department manager is going to be a LAA person, Crew Tracking, CP Scheduling and Paycomp will be LUS.

AFAIK not many major decisions made regarding department managers in MTX.  The MOC managers probably won't be decided on until a little closer to the opening of the new Ops.

Actually I meant below the VP level.

They have named everyone down through the Director level so far, managment is next and depends on the work group, mine is supposed ot be in a few weeks, i have heard finance is through with their part now it is just a mtter of picking the indivduals.
