Travis in your opinion, do you think the teamsters are ready to file at US? And if they do, what do you think the percentages are for both the IAM and teamsters election is.
My opinion yes.
As I have said the IBT missed having a vote at the last merger and only by a small amount of votes but this time they are going to make sure they have the cards by going door to door even to guy's on the layoff list in PIT and other stations.
As far as the percentages I can only use the stations I know of and the card count as a telling point that has been told to me. Most out-stations 90% IBT DFW / LAS / ATL for sure( signed at work in front of IBT organizer, counted and sent to CLT). CLT / PHX / PHL over and as far as PIT don't know any one but was told Strong turn out,The boys were going door to door getting cards in PIT last week. As I hear they want to have a blow out on this election.
If no one has been blowing smoke up my tailpipe, my opinion it will be low-ball 70% or better IBT.
I also was told they were going to file in a few weeks but I am not going to hold my breath.
One person I trust told me( It's been a long time coming. We are in very good shape. ).
In the next few weeks we will see.

Have to say really don't trust any of the unions on or off the property anymore, looking more and more like politicians. Bottom line Parker in line for a 44% pay raise whether it be base pay, stock, performance, ect...and the IAM M&R offered 2%.....

good luck to all the maintaince n related in the short rim as disgustin as the offer was at least the mgmt made an offer but still an ugly one at that good luck regardless us fsa we will be lucky if we even get an offer

What Vote are you talking about? There was insufficient interest from America West Mechanic and Related and so the NMB Certified the IAM as representing Union.

He is living in his own ibt world.

I posted the NMB's ruling and he still doesnt get it.

The IBT’s application is dismissed due to an insufficient showing of interest. The Board finds that the IAM is the certified representative of Mechanics and Related Employees in the single transportation system. Therefore, the Board extends the IAM’s certification issued in NMB Case No. R-4593 to include all Mechanics and Related Employees on the US Airways system.

Sorry for the misprint (As I have said the IBT missed having a vote at the last merger and only by a small amount of (votes) CARDS but this time they are going to make sure they have the cards by going door to door even to guy's on the layoff list in PIT and other stations).

Hate to tell you Travis but the IBT is no different from the IAM with one exception. Your union dues will go up by about 30%. Be careful what you wish for because you may just end up with it.

On a side note do not get your hopes up on the UPS guys. They cut a special deal with the IBT. This is why no one wants to compare them with any other airline. Plenty of info here on this forum. READ and educate yourself before you push for something you might regret later on.

Wow! How little he knows that the TWU will be removed from representing the AA mechs starting with a representational election coming next month. To where, quite possibly, both unions currently at AA and US, could and more than likely will, get replaced by AMFA. So bye-bye AFL-CIO. He should be more worried about AMFA taking over, not that the TWU and IAM work together and share the wealth. The filing date is right around the corner. Good luck to you all...
