http://www.iamdl142.org/Bulletins/2013/USA_2013_MandR-22.pdf Here is what the company thinks about us techs. If you are a tech and this doesn't make you mad then you might be part of the problem. If you don't think we deserve more than this then you are very wrong. Why do Alaska, SWA, Delta or United techs deserve to be paid much more than us? Do we not do the same work that they do? Have the same licenses they do? We have had quarter after quarter of very nice profits, some being record breaking. We should be sending a message that we are not going to sit back and let them continue to slap us in the face with these pathetic offers while they continue to reap the rewards of our hard work. It's not like we gain anything from profit sharing anymore.

This is Pure BS!!!!!! Every A&P makes more than we do now in the industry.
Virgin America just went over $36 an hour. This isn't a union problem its The Company.
Where's my Picket Sign!!!!!!

You can really tell that the Company are taking the IAM and "Fighting Machinists" seriously. What did Parker used to say "we can't afford to pay the same rate as the big carriers". If what the IAM says is true about the latest offer it is a little insulting to the mechanics......

I am guessing they will get what they pay for, and we all agree they arent paying jack!

Perhaps they are already lining up what is left of the "Scabs" who crossed AMFA picket line at NWA to replace the workers at U.....I'm sure they work cheap and we know they have no ethics!!!

Time to consider replacing the IAM. Get a AMFA card drive going. We will file in MAY and it is in the best interest for you guys to follow so we can rid ourselves of the self serving Industrial unions. Proof is how we have been treated over the years at AA and USAir.

How long have they been negotiating for??? All the updates which were infrequent until those nasty words started appearing(AMFA,IBT), stated the IAM was making good progress. And now after the previous two updates, the words become "joke" and "insultating"......which is it? Used to be a crummy 3% yearly, then we go to 18 months, now its 2%?

As for NWA, maybe AMFA would have been successful if the had support of another supposed trade union....

Generally speaking, there is only one thing airlines seem to uderstand when it comes to AMT negotiations, unfortunately that thing is OTS airplanes. I wonder what exactly in their head causes them to think, If I pay my mechanics the least in the industry things are gonna be ok. Not a very good business plan!

The entire problem with that is when you are terminated and dependent upon the IAM to get your job back you become a pawn in the negotiations and who knows how long you are going to be out....The IAM seems to be in no hurry to work to get terminated employee's their job back...

Yes, that could be a problem if you are doing things illegally, which I dont recomend. If you do your job the way the manuals are written, the problem will take care of itself. Technically speaking, taking short cuts and not doing it this way can get you in trouble as well.

Im not going to let the threat of scabs scare me into taking below average pay. Further more, the landscape has changed. When NWA put people in hotels etc, there was a lot of licensed AMT's on the street which is not the case now. AA cant even find enough people to work in ORD, LAX, LGA etc.
