Let them have it

but it will likely create other large problems and certainly cause collateral damage.
a problem can be they are creating a society of people(tens of millions) who just do not have to do anything....at all. (they do not even have to become a legal citizen either)

dont have to work, do not have to contribute anything at all.. yet enjoy full benefits as if they were employed.

where is the incentive to go out and get a job?

while the issue of health care is important.. if this actually does go forward.. a consideration, it should be a temporary situation (with a time limit in order to claim these health benefits), not a permanent solution for some to just go and fill out paperwork and then stay home and never go out and even attempt to get a job and help,

paying into the system ever again.

there is only so much they can expect the taxpayer to cover...

I do like the idea of free health care clinics. It's basically the same as an ER but without the expense of having trauma nurses putting band-aids on a scrape. It might be cheaper than an insurance pool (not as ideal IMO), but it would make liberals a lot happier and thus politically acceptable. Liberals don't understand the concept of providing "subsidized health insurance to people who are otherwise uninsurable" (the phrase is too long), but they do understand the concept of "free health care" (much shorter phrase).

Plus, if I wanted to save myself a few bucks, rather than go to a network doctor and pay a $25 co-pay, I could go to the free health care clinic and read magazines all day!

dedicated clinics seems like a step in the right direction.

you know, its not that most people want to see people go without medical coverage, its really all about what is fair and realistic taking into consideration.. what a working American paying taxes, trying to contribute positively to the economy and communities are expected to pay.. on top of it all.

I think it is ridiculous any law maker may think it is a good idea to finance illegal immigrants health care or every single man, woman, and child in this country (every single one) health care via an American workers paycheck. it is not so easy to have this idea, they are able to insure everyone and oh yeah!...

take it out of your paycheck.

unless the goal in the future is to create 'tent cities' and 'cardboard box homes' and have a ...mobile medical unit on wheels.. drive though occasionally to offer medical services to all us newly created poor folks in this country and while standing in line for days...in our "newly created" third world country.. when all these ideas are not able to be funded.. because the middle class has just been destroyed via all these taxes taken out of...

paychecks. (just how much more do they honestly think they can take out via taxes until the whole system collapses?)

the taxpayer is not going to be able to save the world and solve every single problem.

(I wish it were so easy, but living in the real world, its not..)

anyhoo!

just a thought..

well personally enjoy reading opinions and thoughts regarding Health Care. It gives a different perspective allowing others to form balanced opinions...its always a good idea..remaining within the subject range.. because what appears an insinuated "screen name conspiracy" that seems to pop up all over this board has gotten really old and has absolutely nothing to do with the topic.

(lets try to make it a goal staying on topic)

:)
I will not sit idly by when I get threats via PM.

Let the mods do what you are trying to do with your above post.

Now, back on topic...

I somewhat agree with JS's earlier post.

The pool idea is good. There are so many other tangential issues tied to this debate, it is mind numbing.

It will take some very politically brave politicians (if there is such a thing) to make this work.

No one threatened you mate, I sent you a pm asking what the heck your malfunction is.

you guys are a hoot!

"to make this work"...

all they are going to need..

1. a pen, preferably blue or black ink.. (to sign it into law)

2. everyone's paycheck

then after everyone is covered..

someone is going to come up with another idea...like lets fund everyone's car insurance..
(why not, they own GM!)

because not everyone can afford that either...

someone is going to come up with another idea....like lets fund everyone's renters insurance..
home insurance... lets just pay for everyone's insurance, everywhere!

oh heck! and while we are at it...let them just take control of..

everything.

(I clearly can see where this one is going)

I am not sure if my comments were considered whining.. or being a whiner? being that my goal is to stay on topic,
should I have posted that (among the comments...) in the Sarah Palin thread?

The right to whine freely is covered under the first amendment......

Have at it...... :p

are we discussing the right to freedom of religion and expression or health care?

(I find both, interesting topics)

Ever hear of Claude Castonguay? Maybe not, but those who follow the health-care debate have certainly heard of his creation. Castonguay fathered the single-payer system in Quebec that locked out private insurance, the one which advocates of nationalized health care in the US love to cite as a success story. However, Castonguay has reached a far different conclusion about his creation:

Back in the 1960s, Castonguay chaired a Canadian government committee studying health reform and recommended that his home province of Quebec — then the largest and most affluent in the country — adopt government-administered health care, covering all citizens through tax levies.

The government followed his advice, leading to his modern-day moniker: “the father of Quebec medicare.†Even this title seems modest; Castonguay’s work triggered a domino effect across the country, until eventually his ideas were implemented from coast to coast.

Four decades later, as the chairman of a government committee reviewing Quebec health care this year, Castonguay concluded that the system is in “crisis.â€

“We thought we could resolve the system’s problems by rationing services or injecting massive amounts of new money into it,†says Castonguay. But now he prescribes a radical overhaul: “We are proposing to give a greater role to the private sector so that people can exercise freedom of choice.â€

Castonguay has realized — a little late — that socializing medicine creates a shortage-management system. It limits the resources available, which drives down the level and the quality of service. Without free-market competition and under a burdensome regulatory scheme, there are no incentives for investment, and not even “massive†amounts of government spending can solve those core problems.

What does Castonguay suggest for Canada? He wants the immediate legalization of private insurance.

From the Demorat Healthcare reform package announced today :

Employers who do not provide coverage to their employees will be accessed an 8% tax based on said employees wages!

Employees who do not purchase the healthcare plan provided by their employers will be assessed a 2% tax on their wages !

In other words , provide it and buy it or else Big Brother will take it !

Way to stimulate the economy Nobama !

Bill is over 1000 pages long, doubt very seriously if someone has read the entire document. Maybe the Demorats can get another speed reader to read it aloud for everyone..............funny S_it, isn't it !

One other thing, haven't found out who's paying for people who don't want work...............let me guess........................me and you !
