I openly object to you editing my post. It was NOT inflammatory and merely spoke of passive aggressive behavior and how a certian person seems to use it. You will let people defame others left and right and some, for reasons unknow, are even allowed to curse and not be edited and you decide to write something here I DID NOT write? Do me a favor and just put DELETED BY MONITOR without your side notes. I didn't ask for them and they are neither wanted or deserved. There is too much double standards and you proved yourself with this one. THIS is why I chose my screen name, but I guess you will probably just delete part of this or send me to the cornfield. Great expressive freedom we have here on US Aviation. I will make sure I monitor every move that is remotely over the top from the "EVIL- HORRIBLE" text I wrote and remind you and the others each time.
THIS IS PITIFUL!!

I agree First...

I thought you had said that portion. I didn't know the moderator did. Bill didn't even indicate it was his comment.

Geezus! I think Bill needs to go into the "cornfelds" and think about his poor judgement.

Thanks Pitbull,

I appreciate that. I just can't say anything else right now. I truly am upset about this situation and prefer to try to leave it at that. <_<

Why don't you deal directly with Bill. Personally, Bill and I have had our differences but he is reasonable when you dialog with him in a civil manner...PM him.

Please see pm. Thanks.

No one has to settle for poverty wages and unaffordable medical, no retirment and no money to fund a 401k....

No one.
You mean "no one" other than AFA members flying at Midatlantic that is...

But why let a little hypocrisy get in the way of making a stirring "call to arms" to defend your own self-interests...?

Nobody is forcing any AFA member to work at Mainline US Airways either, so what is your point...?

Tell ya what..

Feel free to educate both me (and the other readers on this forum) on exactly what is so different between what was done in the MDA case, and the situation AFA faces now...

Same union, same senority list, same company... But in the MDA case, AFA WAS willing to negotiate out what was necessary to be competitive + provide jobs to those who still want them...

But when it comes to Mainline, it is somehow some form of inhuman injustice for AFA to accept better than MDA wages/rules for the very same purpose.

curious...

I think this is the most convincing logic for a judge that the company is negotiating in good faith.... if they offer AFA mainline a 'better' deal than AFA accepted for Mid-Atlantic.

From the referenced article:
"the airline has lost 13 percent of its 3,300 managers, said John Hedblom. Turnover in October 2004 was more than three times the rate a year earlier, he said. The heaviest losses have been in marketing, maintenance operations and finance.

In contrast, the attrition rate for union employees has been just 2.3 percent, he said."

My comments:
So, why is that? Why is it that the union, who is apparently getting slammed the worst working conditions in this whole ordeal, is also the employee group with the lowest turnover??! If the non-union employees are leaving in what appears to be droves, then why aren't the union folks finding work elsewhere?

Too bad the First Amendment doesn't apply to privately owned message boards.

I can only speak for myself, I am willing to wait and see how this mess plays out before I decide to take one of my job offers, What does that tell you about the LOYALITY of those 13 % managers ?

Good one, Bill. I get it..It's my party and I'll cry if I want to to. ;)

Nice. <_<

This is the same line of crap that started the B-SCALE!

Although I am not furloughed, nor do I work for MidAtlantic (I am on the A330), I think we should all take cuts bringing MDA up to mainline status.

People that work at MDA are doing so because it is the best deal for them, how dare you imply that Rico is somehow less than worthy...this is how this kind of crap starts.

We should all do our part to make this airline competitive, MDA is a BIG part of that.

:-(

Two reasons.

First, union employees at airlines tend to be in airline-specific jobs. Pilots, flight attendants and A&P mechanics generally (if not exclusively) work for airlines.

Secondly, unions are all about seniority. So if you're a pilot at US Airways, you can move to another carrier only by starting at zero seniority.

So union members at airlines have a lot more to lose from moving jobs than does a manager. Many managers can move to jobs outside of the airline business. Someone working on US Airways web can move to a company in an entirely diffeerent line of business. And managers don't have senority numbers.

If you're a senior US Airways pilot, moving to another airline is likely to be a much worse alternative than taking a pay cut at US Airways.
