Just glad to see all the unions getting together for unity for all. The last change at the top of the TWU locally was the biggest move. When the other president was in charge he was told that he and his F/A's can get in line behind the mechanics on the list, because it take a mechanic to make our aircraft airworthy and it takes a Pilot to fly it. Once those two items are squared away then you all can worry about coming on board for flight.
Since the TWU membership and international rid themselves of this president was the start of the new relationship with AMFA and TWU at SWA and now it has spread to AA as well. Fantastic to see. It may have helped that our current AMFA National Director is from the old AA but I say, whatever it takes.
Outstanding showing guys. Great turnout. I even caught some pics where the IAM did some of their own picketing in other cities as well as joined the members at DFW. Do you all think the IAM was feeling the pressure? I certainly do...

WeAAsles, you know I wish the IAM had joined in, but a special key person from the TWU informed me today that the TWU does not support our health care and is solely focused on Double time and holidays. Essentially, it's thinking bigtime small. Wanting LUS to take 2 steps back instead of both unions continuing the advance using the superior LUS agreement (That the TWU fought for in solidarity) to build upon into a leading industry contract BY FAR.

When I asked, why would the TWU be picketing if this was true? The answer was that Samuelson will be in a dogfight and that these pickets have nothing to do with American negotiations and everything to do with politics and the TWU International elections. I was shocked because the key person is someone that ALL TWU peeps know. He is going to give me more concrete information and documents as we move forward.

Do I believe him? Well, I don't know him. But he seemed sincere.

I do know, as of 2 days ago, the TWU leadership 100% didn't support our health care. I know that 100% fact.

See you guys in section 6 talks if you are letting your politics get in the way of our contract. I've told you WeAAsles that I don't mind you but I'll not let your union's politics screw over all TWU and IAM fleet peeps. You support LUS health care, Catering, etc., or game over and we recycle this thing into section 6 talks. It's your call.

I actually agree with your statements Tim. Why shouldn't the TWU support the better of the two medical? It would be stupid not to support the better one. I'm sorry but if they go the route of AA's medical over the IAM's to me that is a concession on medical. Remember the promise from this asso. about getting the best of both contracts into this new JCBA? Boy I sure do...

I know the IAM very well from my days at United. They are the reason you never got a pay raise at Usair until American Airlines money bailed them out.

Sounds backwards to me, anyway check out the annual report and see who's in the driver seat now. Showing record profits by the way. I guess you could say it's the same with the union situation. Bwaaaa

I haven't heard or read anything "official" from any one "official" about the Medical?

Been reading a lot of off the wall Looney Tunes craziness on here about it the last few days though?

Some (mainly Tim) seem to be bouncing around the rubber room for some reason? Maybe someone wound him up again for personal kicks? (They've done it before)

And you see there's the loopyness that goes on in people's minds. Some of these guys (Fleet) maybe feel it's normal to ask for another 20% raise and keep low Medical "ONLY" for their privileged Full Time Al Bundy set? (Not all people have such loopy thoughts)

Uh and honestly what they DO NOT seem to get is IF IF IF the TWU (Fleet) ran exactly with the IAM medical structure, TWU Presidents would have to explain to their PT Members why they screwed them HARD? Seems like it would be a real pickle if the ultimate decision to put something about it on my desk will come from Presidents and AGC's (Ouch)

And I wouldn't vote away more SCOPE (Jobs) for cheapie Medical. I'm not a totally greedy garvone.

In GP's video, he essentially said that the "good" things were outweighed by the "bad" things.
My money is on SCOPE as being the big fish here.
