Where i disagree with you, Catering, for instance Phx doesn't have catering right? How can you expect to keep catering? Twu doesn't have it anywhere so, trying to keep something that isn't congruent amongst different unions is not worth the effort, there are bigger battles.

Maintaining/getting better scope in key areas, fending/limiting off ready reserve with strict language and being able to file bypasses on violations, keeping cargo open, crap truck, lot more important.

It is so insulting, what your Presidents are paid. They don't decide dick and at most work 20 hours a month. Most overpaid job in the world, all they do, is what the intl tells them.
How is catering any different than lav or cargo?Because it's not important to you?PHL and CLT and some smaller cities have catering. LUS doesn't have cargo AA only in a few cities.

We can pretty much say the same thing about crap trucks or even cargo. There simply is no battle to keep catering, we already have it for the forseeable future so im unclear on what battle you are referring to. Same with small stations. If we kept this work thru 2 bankruptcies then why give it or any work up now? Cost neutral scope isnt the answer. We have to keep what we have and enhance it.

there simply is no reason to sign a jcba from a lus perspective unless we have serious enhancements. I realize laa has a differdnt perspective but u

Tim they(LAA) still have a few things better than us lead pay for one. They also appear to have a lot more agents per flight than we do

yeah, i don't know, how we have a stable contract with such differences.

I see your point of view, but I disagree with it. If your Phoenix hub had it, I would consider the idea a little more, but the Lax hub to the West, and that very powerful hub to the South (miami), unfortunately lost above wing work during the bk. heck they want the Shitters now. what adds up to more full timers, for everyone? catering, cargo, shitters, scope, ready reserve? We are not getting out of this contract either without something hurting us. You guys aren't making 15 dollars an hour any more either, so cuts are coming somewhere now. I understand Clt is still overstaffed and Phx too, so enhancements or not, changes are coming for you guys.

Personally I hope there isn't a new contract, until that pension which I know you understand is a ponzi scam too, is exposed to the membership. Its that important that its not foistered on the membership and twu intl vowing its support, without a language due diligence is unforgivable to the membership.

So although there's no hurry for you guys, the cheaper healthcare and better holiday/vc for the topped out guys, I hope doesn't bury them because of the iampf.

Well in total, what has the opportunity to employ more members, and has the potential to be a bigger profit center and expansion? Is it catering, or cargo and shitters. Shitters have fed rules too...we can use that as possible leverage. I agree about not giving up work, but lets keep the work, both unions do currently do, which is shitters and cargo, and use catering as leverage for scope.

I work at LGA where LUS actually has more flights than AA granted AA flights are heavier but I can tell you LAA had like 40 more agents than us at one time. So if any model tends to over staff I believe it would be LAAs.

I would venture to guess that $ for $ LAA is lagging considerably.

That was just a "ventured guess" :) I did think you all had 10 holidays, Doubletime, more sick days...and the powerful IAM pension plan...And please, a little more for medical? not even close if I compare my numbers to what Tim posted.

we have heard that corporate wants 1 person in cargo bin but its not possible on 738s with 45 min turns in small cities you got 1 bag runner 1 agent doing clp and 1 in the bin load a 738 with say 175 bags and its a definite guarantee it will not go out on time that's not even touching the 30 jetway bags plus or minus we get on the MD80 if the belly is short it is possible to do it but again with delays out bound Ive always felt that whoever in corporate came up with this brilliant idea has never ever worked a day in their life on the ramp in all elements of the weather
