WeAA. I do know our load factors are above 87% I personally don't listen to mgmt. We have more mainline here here n few commuter flight . As for seniority. I feel safe. If in next 5 yrs few peeps retire as they claim they will it'll get better for me

If I understand it your Leads are told by management how the plane needs to be loaded and if there's any problem they have to get back to the manager who assigns them or finalizes the load? Am I correct?

If that's the case why would a test be needed then? Like I said all Leads are is Gophers then.

Again we have Crew Chiefs or in other jobs they would be called Shop Foreman. And you have Lead Clerks.
Your understanding is 1 zillion percent wrong. lead would go to decs to see how to load and then close out flight. IF there is a problem with load you would call CLP Manager is only there to watch what is going on. You could be walking up the Jetyway stairs to get bags and a manger will tell you you have jetway bags, real useful. Don't forget when we were non union leads had almost as much authority as a manager

Hey what's with the Weez Whacking man? Rat already bit off my big toe if you didn't notice.

Alright then there has to be some differences besides just the Title and the cash though?

Can Management touch any of your work? Can Management direct the workforce? Can Management come over and eat dinner with your family?

Yeah Weez I'm going to scream bloody murder if someone who I know for 39 years and happens to be a manager picks up a bag that fell off the cart in the middle of a rainstorm

I actually agree with you that's it's not a big deal Al and it's actually the right thing to do for our passengers.

The problem that we discovered on our side though is you give them an inch then they think they can take a yard. I can't tell you how many times I've heard a CSM say "I'm just trying to help"

Bags from the chute.
Running a bag.
Moving equipment.
Picking up that wet bag.

It's never really about trying to help anyway. It's they just don't want to get hit with a delay and not something they admit which is the real truth.

So unfortunately the better philosophy and practice we apply to them is just don't do it at all.

I have seen on numerous occasions where clerks (agents) drive right by bags in the conditions you describe.

Trust me Al, I gauge every situation and every individual without a completely rigid stance. But sometimes the philosophy shouldn't be tampered with.

I have been very fortunate in my years here, only one d!ck in 39 years and he was short lived, kicked to the curb.
