JCBA Negotiations and updates for AA Fleet

Just a quick note, I like to speculate, it's entertaining, but some do choose to pump false info to rally the troops, seen it first hand in DFW, shop stewards feeding new-hires such blatant lies, and co-workers that are just so clueless to what's really happening. For any of us to even lend a ear to rumor, and to repeat it, I feel is wrong, and that's all I have to say about that.
Time to go to work.

Bob there's no one out there who likes to bust up rumors more than me. But sometimes it's also fun to take a rumor and speculate on it if it can have any plausibility to become reality.

Something like this does have plausibility because we've already seen it happen at other airlines and like I said I think financially it makes sense.

Now unfortunately here's a rumor that I can make up that I say isn't going to happen,

"I heard a rumor that AA is going to unfreeze our Pension"

There's multiple reasons that a rumor like that would fall flat on its face so there wouldn't even be any point in playing with it.

Have a nice day at work and I hope you found your ATM card.

the rumor going around in my station is that the company is willing to offer this buy-out, contingent on the association accepting it:

$50k plus $1k for every year worked.

not sure if this was floated to AMT and is for them exclusively, or, for all, or, just for fsc.

if true, personally...not very generous, but i can see a handful taking it.

Not the best offer, but if it was to be "annuitized" (and thus, not subject to the Supplemental Income Tax rate), it now becomes more appealing...

How about someone floated this air-biscuit, for the pure entertainment value alone.

Companies like to do that; it gives them a good idea on the least amount it'll take to get what they want.

Unless I'm living in my own Private Idaho I think ultimately it makes way more sense long term to transition some of us older foggies out (Not old enough yet myself)

Oh, it'll certainly lower AA's casm.

It also obliterates institutional knowledge, and lets a company remake itself in it's own graven image...

Kev you ain't kidding. I hate to say this but I don't see anyone in the Unions these days looking for people to pass their knowledge down to.

They're so concerned about keeping their own positions as a life time job that they don't want any upstart to come along and maybe take it from them.

Definitely concerned for their future.

I'll be long out of here by then but if unions continue down the path they are now I'm not sure how relative unions will be in 15 ,20 years

I don't see many takers for that without medical

Can't argue with one single word you just said here. I wonder if my generation even gives a R-A really?

70 to 80k even before taxes, seriously? I think we're a little too obsessed with this Medical shtick if you ask me. Man they did a great job convincing us though.

We're all dying. Ugh.

When did you get so truthful?

Do you think they are relative now? You can't strike and membership numbers keep dropping.

The UNIONs did it to themselves by having a captive audience and in some cases very poor performance. The UNION has forgot over time that people expect a return for their investment.

I'm just saying what people in that 60-65 range are telling me. I know several in the 63 and up range still at it for insurance
