Heard someone mention the other day that we are going to start getting shift premiums starting with the Nov wage increase. I never saw anything about this in print, so doubt that there's any truth to it. Has anyone else heard anything along these lines?

I think that's ramp rumor stuff, considering LUS crew chiefs don't get the same premiums as LAA ones I'd be stunned if shift premiums start

Update already out for the week:

Mechanic & Related/Stores Committee Update:

The Mechanic & Related/Stores committee met with American Airlines the week of October 17th in Chicago.

As we continue to progress steadily toward a joint collective bargaining agreement, we remain firmly committed to one goal: negotiating the strongest deal for our members. We are working tirelessly to ensure that the best of both contracts are combined into one comprehensive agreement.

"Much work remains to be done before we can announce our total failure to make any progress."

We appreciate your continued patience and solidarity throughout this process, and will continue to provide updates after each session.

Work smarter not harder. Follow the rules to the letter. The only ace in the hole are the aircraft sitting!!!!

I'm sorry TWU ( not Association), meeting two weeks a month when the company won't even respond to some of the articles is totally unacceptable. The reason I say "not Association" is because why would the IAM and it's members be in a hurry, they have it pretty decent (or better than us on most articles) now any way. Again, the TWU has been hoodwinked, and not only that, they have zero balls to take Parker and his dragging feet on. I have tried hard to give these folks the benefit of the doubt, no longer...either you are indeed in bed with the company (Lombardo) or you truly are afraid and/or ignorant when it comes to being a true union looking out for it's members. Totally unacceptable!!

nothing going on this week except your dues being spent in LAS...lol
Actually a lot happened 'this week', lol. First, Brother Klemm had to sign his name to an agreement with the DOL who sided with me that the last election was rigged. The new election will be in 2018 and everyone will have to run again. In fact, just like in 2014, all district officers will have to run for election, i.e., all 38.

This ruling was the direct result of Brother Klemm and the eboard sabatoging the bylaws by wasting our dues at the convention last year pushing the bylaw change and guaranteeing all the delegates that the bylaw was lawful. Then the eboard forced a vote that bankrupted 4 locals which had to close their doors. Altogether, the illegal bylaw scam cost $1.5 million. When I approached Brother Klemm and Brother Sito last year and told them that this bylaw is illegal, Klemm said that I should just deal with it and go cry to the DOL. While disappointed, I had to exhaust my time to once again fight for the rights of the members. And nothing is political about this because I wasn't even a candidate and hung up my candidate spikes. lol. But rigging an election by kicking off 28 brothers and sisters who secured 4 locals is just wrong.

And when the decision came down, Klemm became unhinged and flipped out like Trump and texted me that I was a big fat nasty P. Then he told me to show that text to the DOL. I'm not sure why this guy wasn't honest to the eboard and still isn't honest with the eboard as there are some decent officers on the eboard [not all are arrogant like Brother Mike], but I told Brother mike that i'll post his sexist text that uses crude language about women body parts and just let the members decide if this is the sorta leader they want.

He walked away from United negotiations, rigged elections, and claimed he was going to beat my claims. He didn't, and I'm glad that Obama's DOL vindicated me once again and ordered Klemm to run an election in 2018 with all candidates who got nominated plus any additional candidates choosing to run.

At any rate, I personally believe we need to get rid of the establishment and clean things up. That may mean saving a few eboard members who are doing the membership fine. I'm sure the opposition has no beef with them. I have no plans to run as I hung up my spikes a few years back but I'll do whatever I can to campaign for the team that will challenge Brother Klemm.

As an aside, while his public statement about this election is just wierd, since the DOL forced the abolishment of the bylaw and a new election, I do agree with him about one thing, i.e., this new election had nothing to do with the Locals and everything to do with Brother Mike lying to the delegates about the bylaw and not listening to me about the illegality of the bylaw. When he kicked off 28 brothers and sisters and tried to make this District his own, I had to open up a can of whoop ass on him. I didn't want to and I emailed Sito and Mike but they just said they did their due diligence and that there was no federal law infraction. Today, he said he didn't know the bylaw was against the members rights, but he is the President and is suppose to be smart enough and educated enough to know these things. He is, but he still didn't care.

What is sad is that we have not had an honest non supervised election since 2008. Ironically, that election was administered by Canale.

lol. yeah he blamed the members for voting for it but he lied to all of the delegates and said it was a legal bylaw. He had a weird unaccountable spin, due to his arrogance, to basically claim that he wanted this election. lol. I really don't care what he says, let him say whatever, I do agree with him that the Locals weren't responsible for this new election. It was Klemm's fault.

Not a mention of the Article of Scope, as being an outstanding issue, in the latest update. Concerning?

orgac not a mention of scope is a concern who knows what they want but as ive said before we should not have to give a thing up
