JCBA Negotiations and updates for AA Fleet

Hey man, these guys deserve an award. Are these Fleet Service employees? Great tackle. I applaud these AA workers for being so attentive and taking action so quickly, way to go guys. These guys should be honored by AA publicly and on the news for taking action instead of just watching him run past them all and keep going and possibly damaging aircraft, employees or even himself (I know, who cares about that one?) Watch the video guys.

Bob did some crappy electrical work on the guys house so the guy came looking for him, no big deal happens all the time

Not sure who told you that... in PHX the leads would be responsible to setting-up the gate (including finding equipment), collecting the wands and headsets, marshalling the plane in, pushing out the plane, directly involved in the loading and unloading, servicing the plane's water along with air and power hook-ups, and the usual duties of instructing and entering the load plan.

In addition, any low-level manager could and will order ramp agents as needed and will assign work areas and staffing levels into locations, not the leads.

That would be a no vote from me unless the rest of the JCBA was very generous and from all indications it won't be. I think we all know CSM's who should not be directly directing the Fleet Crews. The CSM's I work with who do a good job are good to work with, but I don't think I want management directing us unless there is no Crew Chief around.

We should definitely keep the LAA Language here. The buffer between management and union should remain as the Crew Chief.

I don't know about MNTC Crew Chiefs. Maybe some do sit behind a desk or inside all or most of the day. But most fleet CC's I know are out in the operation because they have to be.

The last Crew Chief I knew, who is now retired, who had a habit of staying inside was cured of that by his crew who scanned a lot of bags in the wrong locations. He realized there was not much he could say when their excuse was why weren't you outside? He couldn't complain to the company. He started showing up for his trips.

Sure would not have been a CC down in MIA that would have caught that guy. Must have been some new hires that are in shape.

Be prepared to be disappointed with any JCBA as the IAM is in tight with Parker. They have no intention on standing up to him or showing any type of protest for the rapid pace of negotiations.

They may tell you to your face how hard they are working for you, but out of sight and mind they are at happy hour with Parker. Oh yea they are also picking up the tab too.

With Scope, Insurance, and lack of PT ratio the company is going to make even more Billions as the Association will be left empty handed. Well now don’t feel so bad as you will only have to work 5 more years to see maybe $35 or $36 per hour. I would bet closer to the $35 as they will be bullied by Dougie and just sit there and take it.

Anything closer to LAA Scope than LUS Scope is also a no vote for me.

You guys work rules are much better than ours, one example I believe you get a defined half hour to eat, we pretty much have to shove it down when we can or put n for a paid lunch

I personally would rather have to find my own time to eat instead being forced to be there 8.5 hours and only get paid for 8.

I think most LAA have had to walk for lunch because our Contract was not followed. Take it out of the Contract and I we could get screwed now and then.

Boy do you remember the old business World 9 to 5 with the HOUR Lunch.

Even they’ve gone 9 to 5:30 now with a half hour lunch. S Bag Corporations.
