Is this the first you're hearing of this lovely concession? It's in the contract!!! :)

(d) Except as specified in Article 34(h)(1) and 34(h)(2), only days absent due to illness or injury of the employee which are not compensable under the applicable Workmen's Compensation Laws will be paid for from his allowed sick leave. On any single occurrence, provided the employee has sick leave available, up to the first eight (8) hours of absence will be paid at fifty percent (50%). For example, if the employee misses one (1) day, he would receive four (4) hours of SK and four (4) hours of SKU If the occurrence should extend beyond eight (8) hours of absence, all subsequent hours of sick leave within that occurrence will be paid at one hundred percent (100%) to the extent the employee has sick leave available

No, I am sure you know that I am aware of this. The discussion was concerning the difference between the other work groups.

Old guy if you don't think AMT per aircraft isn't brought up in negotiations well you don't need to be an AMT just have common sense. It's probably one of the company's main issues, therefore should be a concern of yours. To be totally honest I.m surprised they haven't cut back bodies. Here at US we don't have half the auto and no building MTC
Show me where the FAs paid for having more per acft than any other airline. They don't pay for it and it is not brought up in negotiations. If it is not an issue for them it shouldn't be for us. But of course if people (Especially other work groups) stop bringing it might just go away. But this is used against us by our own union brothers and they will never shut up about it.

How many FSC per airplane do other Airlines employ? It seems like every time I look at the transfers page, there are dozens of FSC job vacancies.

With your theory they would have never outsourced a single job. You are correct we should drop it, no use giving the company any ideas

You know what else Weez, if they call any of our guys in on a 7th day they will actually be making more than a AMT. Don't forget I get double time Bwaaaa

As fine example of today's "union brother". IGM right Albert? No wonder unionism is in decline. Enjoy that double time Al.

It's not theory it's fact. We have more FAs per flight than any other airline and they do not take a discount because of that. AA employs as many as they want and they will employ as many AMTs as they want. We should not take a discount either. We have done it time and time again and we lose jobs anyway. How many FSC do we have compared to others? How about MLS? Nobody seems to know that huh? FSC need to keep in their own business and stay out of ours.

We AMTs voted yes for the SRPs (OSM) in 95, WE voted in 2003, and 2012 concession contracts, our presidents voted against a raise in 2008, WE voted against a raise in 2010. So basically it's been by our own decisions to be with the contract we have. It's not so much Albert being a IGM (he's just being a jerk) it's us saving jobs in 2003 and us (collectively) accepting (foolishly) nothing less then restore and more.

I see the Association has a plan to expedite negotiations now. We are going to take group pictures to show how serious we are! Ya just can't make this stuff up! How about a media campaign? Informational picketing at the airports? Or maybe our association leadership should confront Parker at one of these town hall meetings. Either his negotiators are not following direction or he is being less than truthful with his public statements of a expedited jcba.

Hey, I've been retired for a little over eight years now and I always ware my old TWU tie shirts when I change oil in my pickup. That's only when I can't find one of my really old IAM ones.

To bad they couldn't/wouldn't join the ALPA in talking to Trump...

I see the Airline executives were meeting with Pres. Trump this morning. I didn't see Doug there. He was probably too busy working on our contract.

I agree I'll stay out of your business I wasn't referring to just AMTS(Like you said not my business) I was referring to all employee group numbers. They do look at it, in my case I/m surprised they are not hitting us with ready reserve like DL or at least trying to. It's a very competitive business when 1 airline does something the others usually follow suit
