JCBA Negotiations and updates for AA AMTS

Harry and Sito have joined what?? as far as we can see there are no negotiations scheduled any time soon............

or are you saying the back door deals are on?!?!?! that wouldn't surprise me!

Didn't you see one of the last updates that they were joining in? Why are you making an automatic assumption for the negative?

Your Presidents are your Leaders and so are these guys. And from everything I hear at least on the TWU side everyone gets along great with each other.

Getting a deal doesn't mean it's all back room especially if your Presidents agree to bring it back to you.

And what if (gasp) you actually like it?

BTW on April 1 DAL is going up to $48,92 per hour.

3% above that is $50,38

That 7% (If we hadn't wanted the PS) would have been $52,35 per hour.

Old Guy when this is all over I hope you're going to figure out that I have ALWAYS been on your side?

I have NEVER NEVER NEVER said that you should pay for jobs. Pointing out something that exists or existed doesn't mean that I necessarily agree or disagree with it.

It's just pointing out the facts in a time when people don't want to care about that sort of thing anymore.
You have brought it up many times and every time we tell you that is a non issue for us. Maybe it's an issue for you but you are not an AMT so it doesn't affect you. Yeah we have more AMTs per acft than others do but AA employs as many AMTs as they want to. They will keep as many AMTs as they want no matter how much or little they pay us. It is a non issue to us.

Old Guy it's a non issue for you because you're an Old Guy. Not everyone is an Old Guy like you and me and maybe you're even an Older Guy than I am.

Not everyone is going to vote the same way you or I would vote.

As for me and my group I'd like to see some better protections back in there again so I don't have to worry about how many people AA wants or doesn't want to keep. Like our old Job Protection language would be nice.

Well, for now - the older guys control the vote, and probably will for at least the next 10 years. AA is having trouble attracting new talent, and even more trouble retaining them. Once the new AMT finds out how crappy our benefits are, they freshen up their resume's with the newly gained training, and it's off to SWA, Fed Ex, UPS, or Delta, maybe even UAL. We simply tell them to go where they are treated fairly, before they waste anymore time at AA.

Haven't we learned by now it's not about the money? Every contract in the last 30 plus years we kept or the TWU has been giving up benefits and work rules. IT'S NOT ABOUT THE MONEY!

Some people are just stuck on the $$$ issue, when benefits and work rules can easily over cost the pay. Most people focused on the pay never look at the bigger picture or into the future they only want to look at the $$$$$.
BTW, after reading all these post since yesterday morning, it seems many are saying they are paid less than SWA. Do they not know that all 3 (Delta, AA, and United) surpassed SWA's payscale? Were still at our current 43-44, when all 3 are at 47-50ish. I know, we are still nego. a new contract, but so are you guys at AA. IF Parker holds to his back peddling agreement of D or U + 3% then you guys (as of Apr. 1st) should go to 51.50ish. IF he were to be a real man of his words as he claims he is he would put you guys at D or U +7% which should put you guys at around 53.50. These numbers are going by the numbers provided here by charts supplied and as of this coming April 1st, 2017 when Delta gets their next raise. Our co. was hoping that we would jump all over their last offer of $$$ jumping us into 51 or so and taking us above mid 50's at end of contract, BUT, as you have always stated, "IT'S NOT ABOUT THE MONEY" Good luck to you guys on your new JCBA and I really hope you guys do get industry leading as promised...

But it's your own people on this thread here on Forums who are always talking about how they're not paid as much as everyone else?

So to most of them it does seem to be about the money.

Yes according to many who post here they are the lowest paid in the industry only counting you, Delta, United, FedEx and UPS.

To many of them because of your benefits you're blowing them away in regards to overall total compensation?

Actually on that Airline Data Project link I posted it does claim that you're far and away the top dogs for average Maintenance employee compensation? Is that analysis wrong?

It is not lost on mechanics where the shortcomings are. Some in the other ASS work groups see our pay and ask why are we complaining? The answer is, the pay rates are in the ball park, a little shy by a few points but after the interim adjustment, we are close to our colleagues at OAs. Our compensation package should be best in industry and that includes fringe benefits which are:

  • Sick time accrual and bank
  • Holidays
  • Holiday pay
  • Overtime rates
  • Vacation accrual
  • 401k match
I'm sure there are others and something I am missing. I think these items are where we are falling short when compared to other airline mechanics including SWA. All of these items are bankruptcy items that we are still working under.

Of course there are others that say we wont me made whole until we get our pension accrual and retiree medical back, unfortunately it would take some real strong leadership in the representative to demand those items back and I just think its unrealistic to ever expect these people to have the ability to lead us back to those items. I expect we would have to walk off the job to get those items back.

On top of l this we need to be paying attention to scope and not let our work go to other title groups, or 3rd party vendors at any amount greater then what it already is.

Either get you license are go back to your thread. Your afraid of losing your coat tail to ride if we get another union. So your trying to sell the association but most of us amts are not sold on this association. The total compensation package at aa is the lowest . We only get 5 holidays at 1.5. Delta a non union airline gets more holidays even 2 floating at higher then 1.5 they get more sick time and there first one is full pay unlike aa amts getting a half a days for first day sick on each concurrence. Only the amts at aa have that. Your link is a pos it dose not show total benefit package. United gets 7 weeks vacation delta 6 us 5. The twu has screwed the amts to keep you fleet service personnel with your sick days not losing a half day pay on your first day sick. They took a week of vacations from us but yet stores got a extra week of vacation in the bk contract. So you can take your twu love fest back to the fleet service thread. Were tired of giving things up to give to other groups. And why do you care how many amts aa has. That's a management decision they hire not us so quit sounding like a broken record. You are anti amt no matter how many times you say you are not. Because your post are nothing but hate for the amt . You and n700 are the most hateful people I have seen toward amts.

Cone head you sir have hit the nail on the head. He is a troll and a Bobby "lower your expectations" Gless wanna be.

What the hell is wrong with you man? I mean seriously, what's your major malfunction?

I hate using all CAPS because it's for people who need attention but here goes.

I JUST SAID THAT PRETTY SOON YOU WILL BE EARNING BY MY GUESS $105,000 PER YEAR AND I WILL BE EARNING $65,000 PER YEAR.

A $40,000 PER YEAR DIFFERENCE IS RIDING YOUR COATTAILS? YOU ARE REALLY GRASPING MAN.

AGAIN FOR ME MY PAY AND BENEFITS WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED AND FOR YOU YOUR PAY AND BENEFITS WILL BE EARNED AND DESERVED IMO AND I WILL SAY WHOLEHEARTEDLY WHEN IT COMES TO YOU ALL, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!

Were you able to understand that better? Jeez!

Why should you lower your expectations? Do you actually READ anything I write or are you so skittish that you just jump when I try to put my hand on your head to pet you like an old abused dog?

I'm sorry that those people who used to be in the TWU beat you down so badly. It's very sad to read. I guess you're just always going to be skittish no matter how well you might be treated for the rest of your life?

Poor sad abused Mechanic you are.
