Is This True?

Typical union fanatic answer. So Oh Mighty Wise One, what has to transpire for this strike, under current conditions, between NWA and AMFA to be declared officially over?
You will never get it SCAB, those who have chosen to stand TALL will not ever return under the current demands. NWA's has dealt the cards and will now have to play or fold and yor nothing but fodder who will be treated as soiled underpants

With AMFA's denial to let the members vote on any of the NWA offers you will see more AMFA AMT's cross over. They would have probably voted no on the offers anyway but it is just the idea that they were not given the opportunity that has turned them against AMFA. They finally understand that AMFA is not as democratic as they were led to believe.

Nice try to stir the pot !!

The noble AMT's of NWA will be remembered as the ONLY GROUP that had the guts to fight the blatant union busting by NWA. Their display of solidarity should be a lesson for all.

You on the other hand, will ALWAYS be a LOSER-SCAB-LOWLIFE

I can't wait until all the SCABS are outsourced

i certainly do agree that these AMFA folks has the guts to stand up against the inept mgmt team. I wished that the IAM had the balls to do that but of course they didnt and therefore costed them heavy casualties.

They will be remembered all right, in a city (DTW) that already has an unemployment rate of 33% they just upped the percentage points a little bit more.

Keep in mind I work for the outscource companies on a regular basis.

PTO you can't be serious! you have just stated that 1/3 of the working elgible population of the detroit/metro area is unemployed  you are not only a liar, but a complete ignoramus to boot. as of NOV. 2005 the unemployment rate stood at 6.3 percent slightly above the national average. why not get your facts straight before spewing that sewage forth from your piehole.....geez learn how to GOOGLE!

That statistic should have read since SEPT. 2005 the unemployment rate in the detroit/metro area was 6.3 percent.

PTO isnt know for posting the truth. His reputation consists of how many lies can he squeeze into each posting.

...Back to the original question...

Robbed--

ABE is still staffed by mainline employees, even though all flights are flown by either Mesaba or Pinnacle. Several NW stations are like this (eg. TYS, ICT, CVG). I believe MDT *may* be the same, though I'm not 100% sure. We don't have "mainline express" stations/language like US does, though what happens in bankruptcy remains to be seen.

The only exceptions are new stations (opened since the current book was ratified), that have under 7 mainline flights per day. A couple of examples would be MYR & PWM. Usually these are handled by CO, or someone else with an established prescence, but very rarely a 3rd party contractor (at least inside).

A few airlink stations fall under this category (XNA & SGF to name 2). Since the airlink employees were already there, the work went to them.

Hope this helps.

Looks like the flight attendents and pilots should have helped out the mechanics. Notice the last sentence pilots.

Northwest proposes outsourcing some flight attendants
Northwest Airlines may outsource some flight attendant positions on international routes. The airline, now operating under bankruptcy court protection, has proposed staffing some international flights with "regional flight attendants" who are not members of the union representing its flight attendants. The airline is trying to negotiate new contracts with its labor unions. The carrier also wants to outsource pilot and ground-worker positions.
