IAM

On a positive note.....We were called into the union office and presented with a roll of IAM toilet paper...or should I say "contract book". Proudly on the cover....Oct 95, modified Sep 02 and Jan 03. Much thicker than the last one, funny, thought it would be thinner due to all of the give backs. Only 6 months late !! I know, its the company''s responsiblity to provide the book but who to argue!

Only time will tell if it was written with invisible ink. Since I am currently furloughed I will be spared of all the loopholes and double talk. I don’t imagine I will receive a copy in the mail. Although I did receive the last issue of the tabloid called the Messenger. Must be they have forgotten I am furloughed. But hey it served its purpose. (bird cage)

Smartest Loser,

I stopped replying to this post because TMTTQ couldn''t prove his argument unless he added some sort of derogatory remark in his reply.

The one thing Ive learned in life is there''s no point having a debate with someone when their only defense is thru personal attacks.

Tug...Debate..Debate what..?? My observation from what TMTTQ says is..FACT: The IAM has lost over 3000 dues paying members. FACT: The IAM has allowed OSV of all Heavy Maintenance at United (Soon @ U). FACT: The IAM is on shaking ground with all of its members. FACT: The IAM had been unable to stop the company in anything they are wanting to do…!! I don’t think there’s much to debate here. Thats it in a nutshell..!!

Fact, U and UAL were in BK when the majority of those loses took place.

Fact, NW is about to attack AMFA with the BK threat.

Fact, AMFA will agree to concessions.

Fact, jobs will be lost, pay will be reduced at NW.

Well Gee Wizz, It must be nice to be blessed with the gift of prophecy..Us mere mortals usually have to wait until something actually happens before its called a Fact.

dear friend, why all the anti-iam diatribe?i'm sure it wasn't you i saw at the last meeting...i know for a fact.your surley heroes at AMFA are and have been giving away the farm at NW.also have you seen their health care costs too?if you wish for balanced health care and wages i suggest you send your resume to someone who needs a class act like you.try an airline who is making money instead of one of the listed majors,us airways included; who aren't in the 'money loop'.i wish you prosperity and happiness in your search for nirvana.may god bless your every move.
and you cannot address the job losses at U and NW or AA?

NW,NW. thats all I hear out of you. If your getting your info from the 141m website it is mostly LIES. You have yet to answer about all the mechanic job loss at Usairways,or our outrageous healthcare costs which have risen 500% and will double nearing the end of this lousy agreement. In which I recall took 2 times to vote on to get the POS to pass. I know for a FACT the iam willingly gave away all of HEAVY MAINTENANCE at united. FOR NOTHING IN RETURN. Oh, I forgot the one think they will get in return is the mechanics whom they negotiated their jobs away will now vote the iam reps their jobs away. poetic justice. Then the iam will have one agenda left. Would that be giving usairways the fight of their life to make sure we do the airbus S- checks. I don''t think so. It will be the largest anti AMFA campaign ever. I mean the second largest. I forgot about the current one at United. They can look back at all their mistakes they made at united when they try to keep usair. Their last stronghold in the industry of skilled mechanics to trede off for the underskilled workers. Look at that Mr. Tug-slug, not one personal attack in all those sentences. Then again I''m sure the references towards the iam probably offended you. You took the pledge right? So you must defend the iam till the end. Who knows in the future you may be in the 141messenger with your picture saying how lousy AMFA is. Although I can''t predict the future, but I sure can feel the past. Keep up the good work at the local lodge.

Do you know if their hiring in that field? I don''t think the iam represents any computer science people. Unless of course they drive a limo as a side job in NYC. On the union meeting issue. I will never in my life waste my personal time at an iam union meeting again! I''m sure their is incentive for some who will get a check for dues reimbersment. That would be my only reason ever to go. Its not that any of us picked AMFA, they are the only option to go with for a change. Its an afl/cio thing. I''m sure you learned all of this already at your monthly meetings. And about sending out my resume, don''t you understand I have (To Much Time To Quit). I tried to make it easy on you guys when I picked that name as I was sure when I posted all the shortcomings of our company/union I would be hearing that battle cry. Its mainly about the revote and deception. And please don''t tell me how they saved all of our jobs. SAVE IT!!

You and tugslug need to lay off the KOOLAID shooters and think about a support system for your weak spines. And one last point seeing you are so intelligent in union matters, what company hands out severance to employees on STRIKE. Think about it dude, THINK before you type fool!!

----------------
i see you never lower yourself to the personal attack arena..
by the way, isn''t the AMFA campain kind of just fizzling out here at U by the end of the month and dying a slow death because of lack of interest?
