Iam / Management Group Hug

After the way the company management has treated the IAM represented employees with the outsourcing and other contractual issues I would be inclined to believe if they did discuss concessions with the company they would be voted out ASAP.

--I hear now that PIT management is playing hard ball with Maintenance employees and are trying to start a war and soon they may get it.

It seems you are having trouble understanding, believing or otherwise accepting the fact that the IAM members really truly mean it when they say, ENOUGH and let the chips fall where they may. The straw that broke the camel’s back was the bus stratagem making our contracts a mockery. That ploy sealed the hearts and minds of every single member I talk to, which is MANY. It seems we have a reality here that some people including management do not want to accept, our resolve is set, management having provided the catalyst with their actions, making it diamond hard. I see the fat lady rounding the corner.
cav you got my heart pumpin' ....yee-hah....it don't get no better than this!

Cav Although I respect your belief and resolve, One would have to ask, is this the type of organization you want representing you. I mean if the resolve has been set , and before the "plan " has been presented to you, and IAM doesnt care to hear anything, isnt that legally wrong? Isnt there a fudiciary duty as it is with US board to protect your jobs, money value?? I find it hard to believe they would be willing to risk every single job. I understand the company has done things that has fostered the lack of trust, but unfortunatly for you and I and others, we have very little choice here. Iam isnt a bunch of nuts. They are aware of their groups anger, and on the other hand knows in the end what has to be done regardless. To sit back and think IAM will do nothing other than just chat about the way the other side can save money, is being in total denial . Reality will dictate what happens in the end. In reality you see, yours or my vote doesnt count. There will be a price to pay either wayYou see if you as a group turn down talks and refuse to do anything, the outcome is simple. Reality dictates that this company will not allow a group to destroy the company. (not meaning IAM will, Im talking in general terms here so dont take that wrong plz)We will survive or fail. Plain and simple. Im not saying either yours or mine opinion is right or wrong, however it is just that. You will and I will have a vote more than likely if anything were to be sent to us. There you can democratically cast your opinion and vote. As with life, there will be consequences. An opinion! Thanks!

You just don't get it!

The company's plan is to GET RID OF THE MECHANIC AND RELATED!

Farm it all out, plain and simple.

The IAM is protecting our jobs by not giving concessions to the very same company who is violating our contract everyday!

Can you understand that?

fliboy...this reminds me of the japanese admiral's quote after pearl harbor...
something to the effect:
"i think we've awoke a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve."

What war? I have heard or witnesses nothing.

Management is calling the inspectors and mechanics in the office and giving them the third degree after they find more problems on a plane during check. I don't want to say anymore as it will portray bad issues, but the same is happening in CLT base.

I am not sure what you mean.
The planes are being knocked out beautifully. All of them, including the 757's and A/B's we just started.

Where is the problem?

Well, I suggest you call the CLT Mechanic and Related Grievance Committee or the Flight Safety Committee, they will provide you with the details. Mechanics in CLT base are being called into Tim Mullens office on a daily basis.

The problem is undue punitive policies that do nothing but provoke an already irate work force, but then of course why should we expect any different from this management team. Jerry Glass still believes he will win; he needs to get some counseling.

You know what, I stand by the rule my pops passed on to me. I have learned to live by it the hard way.

Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.

I call no one to hear what their spin on facts are. So no, I will not call them.

And I will not post things I have heard from the Union or company. I post and believe what I witness or go through perosonally.
