Zone Controller, Im not sticking up for the IAM but things of this nature take time not to mention that the two sides could still be talking.
You have to remember this isn’t a meeting about concessions its about the company listening to suggestions the IAM has to make the airline run more efficient without the membership having to give more than what’s already been given.

Theres no doubt IAM is talking about ways to save money. I think your mistaken if you feel theres no talk of concessions.

I think it's impossible to say for certain what’s being discussed between the IAM and U. I also think your mistaken on having the slightest inclination of how I feel!

USfliboi,
I have to assume that you have some contacts in the upper echelons of the IAM the be so sure that they're talking concessions.

 MIKE W Is the IAM going to get the ramp work back that they gave up in the last contract as mainline express work when they open or modify the COB.

I didnt dont and dont want to to know ! You said it wasnt about consessions. I said I think it is .I didnt say i know how you feel ! None of this is about "feelings" Its about reality! Oh yeah Mike Im right up there with the big wigs. Their the only ones in the company who could possibly have that opinion. Everyone suppose to have the same opinion as you? Sorry to dissappoint you! Im not management but I could be ! You never know what might happen ! However I doubt they would look to little ole me for advice! Its my opinion and your welcome to it. )

fliboi,
You said it with such certainty,I just thought maybe you had a highly placed source. I'm not sure why you got your shorts in a bunch,I didn't give an opinion one way or the other.

28 years,
No, it's not likely,as the company is bound and determined to get rid of as many of us as they can. Dave would run this company without any employees if he could.

Are you an IAM Grand Lodge Rep or District 141M or 141 AGC?

I think not.

I spoke with the powers to be the ONLY thing discussed between the company and the union were cost saving ideas of how to do business smarter and bring more work inhouse that could be accomplished cheaper then sending it to a vendor. Another meeting on cost savings, NOT concessions is to beheld soon.

For the union there were 141M and 141 representitives and Airline Coordinator from the Grand Lodge was there.

usfliboi, I am gonna ask this only once and nicely so Darth does not send me to the cornfield, please do not post information about the meeting since you were not there and not privy to what happened.

I will reiterate that the ONLY thing discussed was cost savings on how US does business, nothing to do with ANY IAM Contract.

Thank you in advance.

I wasnt at the meeting . Ill rephrase to help you out! In my opinion , there were discussions or the beginnings of themconcerning concessions. Either it was an opening of the door (foot in the door) if you please,or discussions of out right future concessions. Again I find it impossible to believe that you would believe IAM uppers would tell you what the meeting was about. Why would they tell you? Who was your source at HQ that told you what the meeting was about? In my humble opinion any one at Iam that dilvudges details about their discussions would be letting their group down majorly. In my opinion their were and will be further discussions of ways to cut cost including concessions. I ll go on record again and say I believe airbus work should and will be done in house at some future date, but not without some sort of give backs or exchanging of the rules if you will. The company isnt going to just say "Hey youre right , heres your work back" There will be some sort of exchange to make that happen ' IN MY OPINION!

Well you see at the IAM they inform us of what is going on, all you have to do is call your reps and they will tell you. I have spoken with IAM HDQ today and inquired what happened and was told and at the union meetings it will be passed on to the IAM membership.

Once again you are not in the IAM and do not know how they operate.

You can go on record all you want, since 1949 the IAM represented mechanic and related have overhauled every single airplane and airplane type US flies. So when the arbitor rules in the IAM's favor and awards monetary damages, I will be the first to tell you I TOLD YOU SO!

Please usfliboi, as you have requested use facts only and not emotion. Lead by example.
