Big deal. IAM can stomp their feet and demand a contract from the co but when all is said and done so long as the dues are remitted every month they are content with things as is. The membership shouldn't pay for these lame excuses and lazy representation, they deserve better.

Oh come on the IAM is all about managing peoples expectations downward. You come on here boasting about the pathetic IAMNPF multiplier, terrible pay rates US mechs enjoy, keep justifying concessions by saying US filed BK twice I mean seriously you are the biggest company pet out there. Sometime I wonder if you report to Tempe not Upper Marlboro. The IAM has failed their members plain and simple, look at the pathetic agreements they have pushed through at AS, HA, UA, US there is no excuse for that. At least AMFA gets it right and stands up for their members. Its about the quality not quantity of jobs, there comes a point where you give away so much that it is no longer worthwhile saving the headcount. That is what the IAM has done, they are happy to shaft the members so long as the dues continue to flow. And through agreements with Air Wisconsin, Hudson General, SWISSPort, etc this will only continue. You are pathetic, no wonder people true to the labor movement are coming after you on here.

You seriously believe its a privilege for people to allow the IAM to take dues from the payroll, you know it.

AMFA at NW theme song.
Can't be. AMFA showed balls at NWA. Not folding, caving and agreeing to concessions. Men and women of NWA showed the industry HOW to fight instead of sitting back taking concessions after concessions.

I am all for militant action, but I don't like to make threats I'm not willing to carry out. Is the IAM actually going to publicly voice itself against the merger if they don't get a contract? And what day are they setting for a dead line?

I have to agree!

The IAM won't lift a finger for the membership, they are content with things the way they are now. Company boy 700 only validates this with each and every post,

The nc team for iam 141 is not backing off their demands and my understanding is that neither is 142 is the same way. So josh the iam is not as bad now as u seem to think and we will soon see how itll play out at ual

Amid stalled negotiations with US Airways due to the airline’s refusal of a fair contract offer to IAM members at the carrier, General Vice President Sito Pantoja paid a visit to the Pittsburgh maintenance base to visit with members.

During the visit GVP Pantoja updated members about negotiations and emphasized the need for IAM members at US Airways to continue to demonstrate the unity and solidarity that has US Airways management taking notice.

“My sincere thanks goes to the dedicated and unified IAM members at US Airways,” said Pantoja. “We had productive meetings in Pittsburgh and plan on visiting other locations system-wide. US Airways should understand that IAM members are unified and deserve fair contracts now. They shouldn’t have to wait one more day.”

GVP Pantoja and assigned IAM representatives are currently arranging more visits at other locations to share information and build solidarity.

“I want IAM members at US Airways to know the Machinist’s Union is fully behind them in their fight for a fair contract,” continued Pantoja. “I want them to know the IAM is here when it counts, not just when it’s time to ask for votes."
