I was simply making a point you refuse to acknowledge because you are one of the crowd of Frank’s men. It’s the truth! I don’t care what you think, when I lived his bias slant towards the membership and why he is begging for mercy, I don’t care what arrows you throw at me. He refused many personal friends who are fellow mechanics any kind of help with grievances saying to them; be glad you have a job. He has never recognized the weld and machine shop as part of his membership because of past personal grudges. Believe what you may, the truth hurts those who refuse to accept it.
Ahh--HAA!!! Machine and weld.....hmmmm. Your point is starting to become crystal clear. Now I may be wrong, but you, my friend seem a little angry over certain issues that may or may not affect you personally, but the 2 said shops mentioned. This wouldn't have anything to do with A&P licensing issues, now would it cav??? Are you splitting hairs? this is a very generalized statement, but I think you are getting my drift. GOOD DAY.....MORE LATER!!!!!
I personally worked in the PIT machine shop a few years back yes there were some A&P issues none of which ever affected me. However I can tell you Cav is 100% on the mark. I've filed numbers of grievances that were valid over the years that were simply "withdrawn" by Frank or Fry. Heck I even attended a crew meeting in the machine shop held by frank where he told machinists they wern't mechanics (3/4 are in fact licenced A&P mech's) and should just be happy to have a job.
Aerosmith,
Your point is well taken. PIT and shops like the Machine Shops problems are not unique to just PIT alone.
I see this as an IAM problem not just a PIT local problem. A person paying dues should recieve equal treatment and representation of their concerns , regardless of what area they happen to work in. A mechanic and or related employee should have the full weight of representation by their union behind them at all times and on all issues. The dues come out of the checks every two weeks regardless of what department you happen to be assigned too?
If a mechanic in the machine shop is recieving less representation than say a Line or Hangar mechanic is? Then clearly it's time for a change there....someone is taking your money for less service being provided you as opposed to your cohort across the parking lot in the next building. This is clearly not fair.
I have also talked to people in the "Related" catagory whom are paying alike dues..yet do not recieve the same exact treatment when it comes to bid preferences and re-call rights to job openings within their field. Sure a mechanic will jump in and say that they aren't getting recalled when a vacancy is created period....but then again , if they did? They would not have to go through a COB process like a new hire to fill a given vacancy either.
BTW....the above issue was created by the very same people you are having an issue with in PIT , in regards to "The Related" employee's , their actions and failures on negotiating a contract have reach throughout the entire system , mainly CLT , PHL and PIT itself.
I surely do not want to get in a tit for tat battle with the Frank supporters....Cuz from my seat I could clearly careless what PIT does or doesn't do?....that is until the actions in PIT boil over and ruin my day as they tend to do at times.
I suggest everyone sit back and take heed of what's happening and what's not....then vote with your own best interests in mind...and allow the guy beside you to do the same without bashing his head in. You will have to work with one another when its all said and done....or so we should hope anyway.
