I have a question???

what is the pay parity difference???

I thought we were pretty much on the same pay scale...???

I know that the West f/a's have more vacation days.... but thought the pay is the same???

Years 1-10 on the West pay scale range anywhere from $4-$9per hour less than the East contract. Some 10yr FAs who work an avg of 90hrs a month made $27,000 less than their counterparts on the East since the merger. That also does not include the money they missed out on for profit sharing if they made that additional $27k. Thats a big difference!

I am sure someone will repost the payscales. It was posted on another thread on this forum about a month ago.

Ok.... but you are screaming that you don't want this new pass system... but you want the profit sharing that IMHO you cant have your cake and eat it too... you got our.... our... (East) profit sharing,
which was not in your contract.... you want our pay scale.... (which... i still believe is the same..)
but you don't want date of hire passes??? HMMMMHMMMMHMMMM

so you want to pick and choose??? that usually does not happen...

We didn't just get your profit sharing. It was negotiated in the transition agreement. We got profit sharing instead of a fence agreement. Mike Flores and Carol Austin negotiated it, talk to them.

No, we do not have the same pay scales. Like Jet said someone posted them about a month ago. If anyone has them could you please post them again.

We don't want to have our cake and eat it too. We on the west would like ALL of us to have the best of BOTH contracts. At minimum that means your pay and our vacation. I don't think anyone would find that out of line.

profit sharing is not yours to control. Doug could give profit sharing to everybody in the city of Tempe and you can't do a thing about it.

They are talking about the EAST FA profit sharing pool that was negotiated in the EAST contract being shared with the WEST FAs. Doug could have given them their own slice of the pie, but instead the EAST negotiated the sharing of their slice in exchange for some items. So in this instance, yah the EAST FAs controlled it, and their union reps negotiated the sharing of it with WEST FAs.

The point of the grievance was to prove to the company that they cannot just change parts of the contract they find undesirable, in this case flight benefits (IMO). Now the WEST union and the company can negotiate something, but I really don't think it is worth an across the board raise on the WEST and vacation increase on the EAST. Especially when there are other work groups with similar grievances that they will probably win as well. Not that I wouldn't like to see those improvements, I just don't think it will happen over this. IT would be nice to be wrong on that though.

I have to agree the main point here is not whether we go back to fc/fs or keep doh for non-rev travel. It's the fact that the company is being shown they cannot just change what is in our contract on their whim.
AFA west flight attendants have first come first serve in their contract for travel benefits?
I know CWA passengers service agents have DOH in there’s

The east/west AFA flight attendants have a transition agreement?

Yes we do.

The "Letter of Agreement between America West Holding Corporation, America West Airlines, inc.,US Airways Group, inc., and US Airways, inc. and the Flight Attendants in the service of America West Airlines, inc. and US Airways, inc." can be found here.

Transition Agreement

Okay. This company, yes, US, is not going to retreat and go back to the old pass policy, and first come, first serve. This would be very difficult to enforce. Maybe we will get an increase in our per diem, or we will just get more Sa1p passes, etc. This was a good win on the West side, but doensn't mean the company will revert or change bk to the old policies. I would be happy with a increase in my hourly pay v.s more passes...! The new policy is fine with me. Show us a little more money!

HP/US AFA has an interterm transition agreement not a final. big difference.A little bit like LOA93

Please move all discussions of AFA to the appropriate thread which I just started. DO NOT start another AFA related thread, as ONLY moderators can open labor threads and there is only one thread per week per workgroup.

We don't want to have to do this, but if ANY more labor threads get opened the originating poster will likely get 5 days off.
It's time to follow the rules people.
