Is the Hanger in Tulsa getting hot yet??????

Tulsa's largest industries are developing contingency plans in case rolling blackouts limit their power use.

Companies are also cutting back on their power usage voluntarily. Air conditioning has been dialed back at American Airlines' maintenance center to help conserve energy.

At Hilti Corporation, which has distribution space and offices in Tulsa, officials turned off non-essential lights and reduced air conditioning use to save power.

American Electric Power-Public Service Company of Oklahoma warned Monday there was a threat of controlled blackouts because of high demand and problems at two generating plants. Officials say the crisis had passed but added that the threat of rolling blackouts could return.

Wonder how productivity is doing with the scale back in creature comfort.

I imagine the TWU will come up with a catchy slogan talking about how they're pulling together/winning together to fight the stifling heat. Look for a neat-o T shirt bearing this new slogan on a dock near you.

Is the Pope Catholic?

The whole damn state, and country is experiencing record temps.

Not everywhere. Here in southern AZ it has been a cooler than normal summer (so far). TUS has not hit 100 for two weeks now, which is VERY unusual for this time of year...

...and I'm enjoying that very much, thank you!

There's also been more rain here over the past two weeks than I'd seen in N. Texas over the past year. It's actually greener than DFW...
