Hostile Environment

WTF?
R we still in High School?

Apparently, it's more of a Junior High School rodeo = QUOTE (cleardirect @ Jul 7 2009, 11:57 PM) *
Sorry. It is time to cowboy up just a little bit." I suppose they'll have to pick out some of the other kids to play the indians......

How about the USAPA pin authorized by the FOM and it's potential for offense? Perhaps there should be no stickers or embellishment of the uniform.

Each employee group is allowed to wear one pin of their respective union, I believe your reaching now that a USAPA pin is offensive when they are the legal representatives of the pilots, you might not like them or approve of how they operate but they are still the union of record.

does having a f/a slap your arm of the door(because I forgot I'm not supposed to shut on some flts) and then proceed to scream at you that all you people in Philly are rude....we need to learn some manners and all kinds of craziness...in the galley with a plane full????? does that qualify as hostile......we just shut the glass doors on the jetway and waited til her rant was over

Oh for Pete's sake!

If you don't like it....don't wear the bloody thing!

'Nuf said.

Thank you for making my point. No sticker or badge or union nose ring can be construed as a hostile work environment. If it were deemed to be so, then all such "flair" would have to be prohibited. Maybe the BSR or whatever they call themselves will whip out the constitution and put in something about fining any member caught without their pin attached to some portion of their person.

On the other hand you could just have a union that didn't provoke such silliness.

"provoke"? = So...None of the west behavior is subject to any reasonable, personal or group responsibility? I see now, and thanks for that explanation. On the other hand; one could hope for a group of seriously professional pilots that don't so easily indulge in "such silliness", regardless of being "provoked".

I would never refuse to move an airplane over something like this, it wouldn't be fair to our customers. I just either remove the stickers if I can, or call and tell someone else they need to be removed. I don't think airing your issues with your coworker in public is right either. Believe it or not, people look at and make a judgement about the pilots that fly their airplanes. There has been a lot of public childish behavior on both sides of this fight.

You are 100% correct.

The only reason I would delay a flight for this kind of behavior is if it made me laugh so hard I soiled myself and required a quick change of undergarment.

I'd like to hear your analysis of a comparison of the level of animosity between east and west under ALPA versus USAPA. Wasn't the first skirmish in this battle of the bumperstickers "Seniority Matters"?

I wonder if it refers to the Arizona Cardinals owning the Eagles last postseason?
