Hostile Environment

As we all know the company has a new employee manual and harrassment policy. We must not operate nor condone a hostile environment. When you see hostile/harrassing stickers on jetways, bags etc. get them removed before you proceed into this environment.

If that means stopping an aircraft before pulling into the gate then so be it. If departing a gate ensure no hostile/harrassing stickers are in view.

On the Wings website you can download the harrassment form under Human Resources Forms-General: select "OTHER" on the form and detail the hostile/harrassing situation.

This childish behavior must end.

Sky,
Not really sure what you mean, in 21yrs I have never seen a sticker on a jetway. Most flight crews dont't carry flight bags anymore(not sure on west). If you are referring to red lanyard on west, really no big deal. I see them, they don't bother me, their just sticking up for what they believe, be over soon. Now if your talking about things that may be sexual, ethnic, etc. then I couldn't agree more. They should really be fired. Either I don't see much of it, or I'm just clueless and don't notice. Maybe both as I am in a constant state of sleep depervation, due to Int'l flts. or I'm in such a hurry getting home after my trip. Do you really think it's a problem, or are some over sensative.

I miss what this would be aimed at? An AFA bag tag? A USAPA bag tag? A sticker that might say "If it isn't Boeing It Isn't Going"?

What exactly is the target here?

Two or three times I have seen a bumper sticker type sticker at the bottom of the jetway. Right in the view of anyone boarding and certainly deplaning. It serves WHAT purpose? It's as bad as employees that write in a/c compartments.

You must not fly out west or to gates that west crews frequent. I have had to call many times to have USAPA=$%$# and other stickers removed form jetways. One in DCA just the other day.

This is the goofiest thread on the boards!
Freedom of speach is what we are all entitled to, whether oral, in writing or on a "sticker".

There are bigger fishes to fry. Usairways interp of zero tolerance or whatever the newest program they have rolled out is as effective as the rico act.

I love smiley stickers don't you?

Freedom of Speech only applies to the government restricting your speech, not the company you work for.

Just like US has a policy that you cant speak to the media on behalf of the company nor can you identify yourself on a message board as an employ, two legal policies under the law.

Pi,
you're right, I don't, just PHL-int'l-PHL, don't fly much at all in the winter. I guess who ever puts them up are kids being kids,AH.....the younger generation. They're most likely the same ones that cry the loudest about integrity.......and to think they most likely will be my CAPT. someday. HA.......

Freedom of speech is not absolute. I can think of several things that you could put on a sticker on your bag that would get you fired and sued in a heartbeat, can't you? I don't care what you do in private but some of the things I've seen are embarassing.

Some of the videos are even better! Should calm down some now.

EWR gate 38 I think, my favorite "Doug Parker designated driver of this train wreck" ORD E7 had some good ones to.
