Hasn't heavy aircraft maintenance in South American countries taken jobs from Americans? Doesn't that have something to do with NAFTA?      Humm?

Nope that was done under Ronald Reagan, when Elizabeth Dole was Secretary of Transportation, she changed the FARs to allow US based airplanes to have scheduled maintenance and overhaul in foreign countries.

Wouldn't it be nice if someone could "renegotiate"  that to state "all maintenance on American regestered aircraft be done in the U.S."? Do you think Hillary would do that for us?

Unions tried in the 90s to get it reversed, not republicans were interested in that.

More planes are sent to Asia to be overhauled than Mexico.
