Fll Routes -- How Are The Loads?

With just about a month from starting the FLL experiment, was wondering how the loads are looking for both the new domestic and international routes.

Was also wondering if they have foreign government approval for everything?

Most of the calls I have gotten to and from Ft Lauderdale, just have been for "free" award tickets....after the baggage fiasco....

We are selling the new international service out of FLL, it seems to be drawing the market it was projected for.

Of course everyone will have their spin. The competitors will say we are not doing well. The US naysayers will do the same. And the hopeful ones will say everything is coming up roses. And lest we forget MiAAmi..I see you lurking :p and all the AA employees and supporters...we're eatting your lunch.

I hate the fact that US is in the position it is, I wish things were different for you all and that we could all exist and make money alongside each other. Thats not going to happpen and unfortunatly the weakest in the industry need to be weeded out for the industry as a whole to recover. If US was really serious about eating AA's lunch they would have come straight to MIA. And if AA thought US was really a threat they would be adding service out of FLL. Who knows were we all will be in the next few months, I never thought that I would see AA in the shape its in right now either. My heart goes out to you all as I have worked for a company the went belly up and I know its not something to wish upon someone.

That's only because we can still afford to buy lunch, as opposed to having to stealing someone elses.... ;)

Correction AAswhole,

US Airways has stolen nothing. They are called loans. I'm sure AA has a few themselves. They just do not have them govt guaranteed.(sp?)

As for stealing, your company, like US Airways, has done a LOT of stealing...from the employees. IF you are indeed an employee, you will know that the other fine employees were backed into the corner to give AAlot to keep from going into chAApter 11..and guess whAAT, know-it-AAll? American STILL may have to file chAApter 11...so wonder back over and try to save the eAAgle. BUh BYe!!

Um, to get back on the subject of the thread......

I looked up some of our loads from FLL to EYW, and most seemed more than half full for mid-Feb and beyond. Most of the CLT-GGT loads on the 701 were less than half, but its weekend only service. Anyone know why we can't run Antigua or UVF(St Lucia) 5 or 7 days a week instead of weekends only? One other question, will the FLL feed ever be expanded to other cities like DAY, CVG, CMH, or MCI?

From what I have heard about plans for FLL, this is just the beginning -- both domestically and internationally.

I'd like to believe that this is just the beginning for FLL, but after US just dropped a few routes and reduced frequencies on others, i'm hesitant to believe it.

North and south routes have been real good, the other routes out of FLL to the caribbean should do well also. Heard in ground school we have big plans for FLL. Hope it works!!!!!!!

Why should US start service at MIA when AA already crowds out the gates and runways? JetBlue went to LGB, not to LAX. WN flies out of DAL, not DFW. So, why would US do something differently???

And, I thought that AA did announce increased service out of FLL - and then dropped some of it...
