Fleet Repainting

Something is not right. 700UW would have Star Alliance tail. The aircraft in the picture has a flag tail. Must be more than one in for painting.

The tail is normally a sticker, they just put a new sticker or paint over the the livery when it was painted in the star livery.

Nothing is wrong, look at the photos, the tail # is quite clear 700UW.

First US Airways Aircraft Painted in New AA Livery Will be Delivered on January 30th
To: All Employees

Good afternoon all,

As an important step in the integration process of the new American Airlines, the first US Airways aircraft has been painted in the new AA livery and will be delivered on January 30th, as Doug stated in his State of Airline Meeting today.

The first aircraft, an A319, will look like the American Airlines aircraft painted in the new AA livery except that it will have the US flag over the aircraft number on the nose gear door and an “Operated by US Airways” aft of the L1 door. This will help differentiate the carrier (Legacy American or Legacy US Airways) in which the aircraft belongs to.

Should be AWE2060 tomorrow CLT-LGA

The crew flying that 319 to ROW right now will most likely pick up 700UW and fly it back to CLT. When I was on the baby bus, I flew several times to ROW in a plane to be painted and picked up one with fresh paint and flew right back (In the middle of the night of course)... I remember seeing several Metrojet 737's parked there just off the taxiways... That would be a nice place to visit in the daytime when you could really see all the old planes parked there... :)
